Good Chicago Park Course for Beginners
Chicago park district offers several fairly inexpensive 9-hole golf courses and Marquette is one of them. Marquette is a good course for beginners and casual players. It’s a very easy course with limited hazards and no dogleg holes. When we went in late September, there was goose poop on a few greens that could interfere with putting.
1st impression is the last!!!
Course has sewage running thru it. Poorly maintained. Greens in need of repair. Bathroom clean but in storage room. Whoever maintains this course must not be a golfer!
Fun & Inexpensive
Fun course. Not too difficult. Staff was kind and helpful. Be careful of the geese!
Flat and wide open
I enjoys this course. Relatively flat, minimal obstacles and could see the flag on 7 of nine holes. Does have some distance so don’t be fooled by just seeing the flag. This course reminds me of Columbus which is also a great beginner to intermediate course. If you are looking to pop in and get a quick nine before your day starts, Marquette is your spot.
Thanks for your feedback, Nick! We hope to see you again soon at Marquette.

Good and basic
I hadn’t played there in years. It has improved greatly. The course is in good shape. It’s pretty basic but that’s ok sometimes. I’ll go back when I need a practice round.
Thanks for your feedback. Our Agronomy team works relentlessly to keep the course in good condition. Hope to see you again!

nice gem on the southwest side of the city
Great course layout with 2:par 5's. The bunkers have some of the best sand in the Chicago Park District Golf system. The course itself however does not drain well. After a day or two of rain the course seems to stay really soft for 3 or 4 days after.
Nice size greens especially on holes 3, 7, ana 9.
Your feedback is much appreciated! Our Agronomy team puts countless hours and effort into the golf course. Glad their work is noticed and valued. Hope to see you again at Marquette!
