Not worth it anymore
There’s been a lot rain recently, but between the pothole ridden cart paths, washed out unkempt bunkers, crabgrass, no drink cart, etc, Harborside has lost some of it’s luster and the fee is starting to feel steep for the experience.
Lost its way
It’s been several years since I’ve played here. Surprised it’s run by Kemper Sports as they usually do a good job. Potholes galore on the cart paths, slow pace of play, divots everywhere (including the greens). Not sure what happened but it’s sad to see this once great course so disheveled.
Not worth it
Course plays 1,000 outings and it’s apparent. Tee boxes like rough. Divots all over the fairway. Course maintenance getting ready for the next outing regardless of golfers on holes. Cart paths haven’t been paved since the 70’s. Expect a lot more for the amount you pay in green fees.
Continues to be the biggest rip off in Chicagoland golf!
Harborside is close to the city; but that is the only positive thing about this place.
Cart paths are so horrible, and getting worse.
Tee boxes and fairways were either burnt out or soaking wet.
Huge areas of dead spots within the fairways, more so on the front 9.
90 degree day; no water available on the course at all.
Even the brats in the halfway house were almost cold, which isn't a big deal, but indicative of how they care about this place.
They know they are always going to be busy, so they do not have to fix anything.
Spend your money somewhere else, I promise it is not worth the money you pay for it.

Dissappointed
I played on Sunday for the first time, read the reviews about the cart path which were spot on, they really need to fix that. I went solo, had the first tee time and went ahead of the 2 I was paired with. I got thru 18 holes in just over 2 hours which was great. It was one of the most annoying rounds I played, the sand trap machines were going the whole back 9. I understand the work needs to be done but not when someone is close. On the 18th hole, as I was putting out, the green machine was going and literally 10 feet away from the flag when I was putting. I am guessing the group of 2 were at least 5 holes behind. Challenging course, needs some TLC on the fairways and definitely cart paths. Was not worth the $140 green fees.
Would not recommend
The course is in terrible shape, yet is still one of the most expensive courses in the chicago area. I recommend you go basically anywhere else.
I don’t know if the hot weather we’ve had had something to do with it, but the course condition wasn’t what I was used to
Good value and nice layout
Played Starboard course, very good layout especially the par 3s and 5s. Greens and fairways in good shape, but some of the fairway waste areas were only hard dirt with stones. Cart paths were in terrible shape with potholes.
Played at 10am on weekday and finished in 4 hours, even though we were waiting on every hole.
Course was OK not in the shape that I remembered though
Harborside!
My son and I played this course and we enjoyed the course lay out (overseeing the sky line of Chicago), the pace of play was great and found the course to be challenging (but not overbearing).
Always enjoyable
Such a fun golf course with good views of the Chicago skyline and surrounding industry.
