Starboard at Harborside International Golf Center

2nd time in a month that we were stranded on the course with a golf carts that died between the 6th and 7th hole.

Goose waste is prevalent all throughout the 17th and 18th holes.

Weather was great, course is in great shape, staff was tremendous. All good. Despite the lack of rain, the course is playing very well. The rough is pretty deep

In places but the course generally has generous fairways so a premium on hitting it on the short grass.

I saw some reviews complaining the quality was down and the prices were up so I figured I should get out there before either got worse. While pricey, I loved the course. Everything was in great shape and pace of play was great.

I really want to love Harborside, but they make it tough to love them!

~1 handicap who plays here ~10x a year. It's a bit overpriced, but they know they are the easiest course to get to from downtown Chicago that's nice.

The rough is much longer than it needs to be, almost like they are trying to be really challenging, but it's tough enough as it is with the wind. I would not recommend anyone who is over a 15 handicap to come out and play because it's so challenging, and the tee options go from 6,600 to 5,800 or something like that which doesn't leave a good spot for average golfers..

The fairways and teeboxes on one 9 were not mown. (typically they are )

Harborside used to be one of our favorite in the Chicagoland area, but somehow it’s fallen off a bit. Their rates have increased and the course maintenance has decreased- what used to feel like a premiere 36 hole layout now feels a little like a municipal. Cart paths uneven, beaten potholed, greens discolored and pelted with divots. The course has many bunkers, sand dry, arid, rarely any rakes on the scene- just a bit disappointing having to sit through 2 hours of traffic coming from the north for this experience at over $120 on a weekday.

The staff was very friendly though and the amenities are decent, but simply not the value that it used to be.

Bought the hot deal and got paired with a stick!!! Was really nice to be on a pure course and have a clinic put on. I played well and the wind was low so it was enjoyable. Great staff, snacks and beverages always available it seemed. Starboard was fun even for a 20+ handicap. I’ll be back for sure.

The maintenance of the course has declined as the prices of playing the course have gone up. You would think it might be the other way around too many weeds and unevenly cut grass and slow greens make it not so desirable.

The golf course was very fair. The rough was difficult. Greens rolled true. The wind laid a big roll in higher scores.

Greens fees are pricey, but the Harborside experience is worth it.

I’ve played both courses at Harborside many times but, this was the first time for my playing partner to experience Starboard. After the round he said he now prefers it over Port. I think both are challenging and fun to play.

Conditions were great for November. Greens rolled well and the bunkers were maintained well.

Though it's late in the season it would've been nice to have a ranger out there to speed up a slow moving 4some. With limited sunlight, maintaining pace is important to allow everyone to get their round in.
