South Shore Golf Club
About
South Shore Golf Club was formerly a private nine-hole course but now it is part of the Chicago Park District Golf collection, which features five other courses. Although it is seemingly out of the way, tucked in the southeast corner of the Chicago metro area, it is one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the area. Through the stands of mature trees, golfers can catch glimpses of Lake Michigan. The carefully preserved landscape has earned the golf course recognition as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The par-33 layout features tree-lined fairways and small greens. It's a golf course that requires accuracy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. South Shore Golf Club is a great course if you're looking to get some short game practice or squeeze in a quick round.

Need higher fences
My only complaint is that the fences butting the eastern face of the course onto the road. My slice went way over into the road but it was only 20ft in the air -- I'm just glad I didn't hurt anyone/anything
Getting worse
Starter, again, super negative and spent more time hitting shots than keeping pace of play up. Worst pace of play I’ve ever experienced.
A classic Executive Country Club Course.
On the Lake and gorgeous! One of my favorites. It is an executive course and easily walkable. Old style!
Old time executive country club on the shores of Lake Michigan.
I love this place and I've been playing there for years. It is very historic in Chicago and playing on the shores of Lake Michigan is a joy. The clubhouse is beautiful and there's
a great restaurant that's open a couple or few days a week.
Swearing Starter, slow play, course in great shape
The man at the front desk is great. The starter was swearing and unkind at best. Course is in great shape but the pace is AWFUL.
Relaxing 9 hole
Had a gorgeous afternoon playing here with hole 2 opening toward the Chicago skyline. Great band for your buck. It is an easy course of you have a high handicap. The upkeep is fair so you can find majority of your shots. Check in first before paying for parking!! I had to learn the hard way. They offer discounted parking for golfers.
Pace of play enforcement
Ranger did not enforce pace of play, a man with three kids played in front of me and added an 90mins to the round....smh
