Challenging
Challenging course, usually able to find good deals.
Winding and Wide
The course itself was extremely forgiving to deviations left and right while still allowing for a tighter aim point towards the green. If you were to find yourself in an awkward position it was not the end of the world and through a disciplined shot you can get back into play quite easily. It also offered a great amount of turns in both directions left and right with some challenging elevation elements as well. I would say the only hang up I have about this course is the fact that the layout is no longer as straightforward and some holes were rearranged from the online and booklet maps, making finding the right hole a bit confusing. Other than that the people were very friendly and the service was quick and precise.
Good value for price
Fairways and greens were excellent. Traps are rough but otherwise very nice.
A Once Great Course
You can easily see that this was once a great facility. Now, most of the buildings are run down and deserted - neglected. The layout is fantastic, the greens were very good. But, many of the bunkers were left to weeds taking over. The fairways were pretty good, some of the tees were just grass. There weren't many people on the course, so you could play at whatever pace you desired. Fast or slow, no one would be affected. Still, golfers need to experience this part of Chicago history.
Poorly maintained
Great design but very poorly maintained. Club house is not good con conditioned at all including bath rooms.
Rough Course
Only would play if you get a hot deal. Otherwise not at all worth it. Rough tee boxes, The range is a joke, the inside is broken, dark, and smells like mold.
Great golf
Staff very friendly. Beautiful coarse. Needs to be set back up to be up to par but very good deal for play.
The staff and the course are awful. They don't take care of the course or the traps. The people are miserable and missing teeth. Will never play there again
A new year
The course was in good condition except for the sand traps. The price is very reasonable. A change from last year is that you can no longer drive your cart to your car although parking is very close.
However, if you need to use the washroom, the Women’s was out of order and the Men’s was mostly out of order except for one stall. Also there wasn’t any soap or paper towels.
Hidden Gem for newer golfers
As someone new to golf, this kind of course is great for me.
I don't need all the greens and fairways to be pristine while I'm still trying to make good contact with the ball!
Good price when you can snag an afternoon tee time, pace of play is usually pretty good depending on the day.
Course has not been kept well, especially some of the super overgrown bunkers - but for $40 and a quick afternoon round I can't complain.
Staff was friendly both times I went as well.
Nice Day On The Course
Not many people out, so there really was no waiting. Nice course, but some neglect in maintenance. For instance, several of the sand traps were overgrown with weeds.
Awful Course
Never play here. They paired me with someone who stole my pitching wedge, contacted the clubhouse by phone and email with no response, course was in terrible condition, as well. Will not be coming back here again.
