Great…..But
11am tee time today behind a foursome. Our group was a group of 3-some and was being held up every hole and every shot by the group in front of us.
At the turn, our group decided to play through. After hitting our tee shots on 10, the ranger came to our group scolding us for playing through. Stating “this group better not be held up on any tee box, I didn’t give you guys permission to play through”. By the end of the round the group we passed was a hole and a half behind us. The ranger conducted himself in a very unprofessional manner. Disappointed with how we were treated.

The Buffalo chicken and jalapeño wrap should be named the Oliva Wrap.
Dated Course Design
Trees overgrown crowding fairways. Bunker positions mostly irrelevant for todays driver distances. Greens extremely slow. Pace of play is slow

Not worth it
We played on a Thursday afternoon and the pace was not bad until the group in front of us stoped at the halfway house eating lunch and having drinks while the course got backed up. No point in having rangers drive around if they aren’t going to enforce pace of play or do anything. Also the greens are a mess now that it’s public ball marks are everywhere, bunkers were washed out and had no sand. Definitely not worth the $70!!!

Great course, country club feel
You pay a little more but, it is worth it! Excellent course, well maintained, tight tree lined holes, kind staff, rangers out and about to ensure solid pace of play.
HItting it straight or playing to your strengths will help a lot on the course. You don't need 250-300 yds off the tee....190-230 yds will put you in good approach angles. Sand bunkers very deep (99 bunkers in total - we played with previous course employee).
Course has lots of undulation in fairways and greens can be tough depending on pin placement. Signature par-3 hole had pin on top of turtle-back - tough.
Course (like others around it - Calumet, Coyote Run) built 1901 - how cool to play a course over a century old! The original shack clubhouse is still out there. Just appreciative of the history and uniqueness of course!

This track is a work of art. Every Donald Ross feature was present and in great condition. I was a member of Pinehurst CC for 25 years and this is the best Ross course I played except for No 2.
If I had to find fault (difficult at best) I would say the greens are a little slow...let the ball run off to "Ross' Revenge as I call it.
The Staff is great and very friendly and the owner (never met him) take great care with this great course.
For what it's worth I am 86 and shoot my age most outings.

Interesting Ross design
Fairways were top notch. Greens consistent but slow. Bunker sand was ok but the faces of bunkers had weeds and crabgrass. All over the faces. Nice pro shop. Starter was friendly. Verbally I’d go back.
