Great track, even better staff
One of the best public courses in Chicago. Great layout and well kept greens. I lost my phone on the course and the Ranger tracked it down for me and handed it back on 18. Nice clubhouse and incredible staff. Most Chicago public courses get bogged down on busy days. Ravisloe manages peace of play very well. 5 stars
Great day, course condition, top notch
7am tee time. Walked and played in 3 hours. Can't speak to pace of play in the middle of the day, but moved along well in the early morning. Ravisloe used to be in my regular rotation, but hadn't played it in years. It is in best condition I've ever seen. I played the club when it was private and it is without a doubt in better shape than it was back then.

Big, challenging course
Love this course. Be ready for some long par 3s of your playing from further back. Big, open fairways, not too much as far as hazards to avoid, and nothing that requires you to be super accurate.

Great Course
Staff is the friendliest around, they make the extra effort most places don’t. Course is in great shape & they make sure you and all those in front of you, keep the pace of play.

Slow, bumpy greens
I hadn't played Ravisloe in a few years and was disappointed to find the greens extremely slow and bumpy, which is a shame because they are a great set of old Donald Ross greens. To boot, some of the pin positions were asinine, including being placed on the top of ridges (it was truly incompetent). I really can't figure out why the greens were so poor given that the course has been raising its prices recently. Anyway, I won't be back, as it is no fun putting greens that are untrue and that require a golfer to bang the heck out of a putt just to get it to roll 30 feet.

Course Review
Shot-makers course. Parkland style course in really good condition. Scoring is possible from the appropriate tees. Great value for the money, especially weekdays. Will play often.

Course in great condition
Course in excellent condition, greens not as fast as previous but in very nice shape. Some challenging holes and rough was tough. Enjoyed the day.

Great…..But
11am tee time today behind a foursome. Our group was a group of 3-some and was being held up every hole and every shot by the group in front of us.
At the turn, our group decided to play through. After hitting our tee shots on 10, the ranger came to our group scolding us for playing through. Stating “this group better not be held up on any tee box, I didn’t give you guys permission to play through”. By the end of the round the group we passed was a hole and a half behind us. The ranger conducted himself in a very unprofessional manner. Disappointed with how we were treated.
