Best Public Golf Course
From the beautiful club house to friendly staff to beautifully maintained fairways and greens to decent bar menu, I think Ravisloe is the best public golf course anywhere (excluding resort courses).
I play public courses from CA to NY, Ravisloe quickly hit the top of my favorites list.

Nostalgia
Amazing history and you can feel the course being 100+ years old. Very cool Donald Ross layout. But it needs some money and work out into it. You can tell slowly declining since it was public in 2009

Disappointing Course Conditions
Bunkers were hit or miss on having any amount of playable sand. Greens were pretty beat up from ball marks. Overall the ground was pretty hard and extremely difficult to get a club underneath anything not in the fairway.

HIdden Jewel
Played Ravisloe CC for the first time, and I'd have to say it lived up to the reviews. Given it's been around quite a while, the course more than stands up to its newer competitors with the beautiful tree-lined fairways and many well-placed bunkers. All in all, challenging but fair. The course and clubhouse have a cool historic vibe, and the staff was very friendly and informative about the course's history and layout. Will definitely play again, and certainly recommend to others.

Course needs money infusion
Have to be careful driving to clubhouse because you drive thru the 10th hole fairway…
Staff was great & so are golf carts with gps.
For the cost of a round I expected much better layout and condition of the course. Old ball cleaners and most didn’t have soap/water and towels where missing or half torn. Some bunkers had little sand.
Sadly it’s a 1 & done experience to golf at Ravisloe

Pace of play was just way too slow. Tee’d off before 9am and was on the course almost 5 hours. For a relatively short course, should be around in 4 hours 15, MAX. Didn’t see a ranger the whole day.
Course was in okay shape. Greens were kind of beat up and at some point hope they are able to redo some of the areas around cart paths.
Otherwise, enjoy playing this track.

Yesterday I played Ravisloe CC a Donald Ross designed course (now public) in Homewood. After all the rain this week I thought fairways, traps and greens were in very good shape. Relative to previous years trend there is now in the right direction and I considered it well maintained. I am definitely going to do it again.
