Nice course but VERY slow play
We enjoyed the course and the greens were very undulating. Sand comes into play frequently. There was heavy play(Sunday afternoon at 3PM was our time) and the front 9 took over 3 hours. The back nine was better. It would have been nice if the course could have roamed the course more to encourage faster play and not rely on messages to the GPS screen on the cart which I'd guess most people don't read. At one point there were 3 groups on a tee box for 3 consecutive holes waiting to play. The layout of the course is such that many holes run next to each other and errant shots do go into other holes making it a little dangerous and adds to the slower play. The course is affordable and worth what they charge.
MUST PLAY
Played in under 4 hours on a Sunday morning..... Don't let the 6305 yards fool you. This course is challenging and one of the best 6300 yard public golf courses in the US. If you are an avid golfer- try it.....5 par 3's (Par 70 layout), make the courses overall yardage seem short, but it plays like 6700 yard par 71. Very generous from tee to green, the green complexes will challenge you. First time playing can be a head scratcher, play it a few times and you will get to know the course. This place has a private club feel, from the surrounding neighborhood, to the practice facility (2 putting greens, short game/bunker area and 1/2 acre grass tee range). Arrive early, enjoy the practice area and prepare for your round. Oh yea, and the restaurant/bar/patio is a great place to relax afterwards.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed all the amenities our course has to offer and we hope to see you again very soon!
Suburban Jewel
Mt Prospect GC is a challenging, well maintained golf course...it was re-designed several years ago...a fantastic job. The course drains great so playing after inclement weather doesn't present a problem.
The greens are as interesting and can be as difficult as any greens anywhere. They all have multiple levels and as a consequence require thought as to where your approach shots need to come from to gain access to the best level on the green...
The course isn't long...so for seniors like me (still single digit handicap) they play fair but tough.
Love this course.
Thanks for the 4 star review! Please come back and see us again soon so that we can change your 4 star review into 5 stars!
Great course, even greater staff!
Had the BEST experience playing at Mt. Prospect! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, not to mention super patient. The course redesign also looks incredible. 100/10 would recommend.

AmaIng redesign & awesome staff
Staff is super friendly and the redesign challenges all golfers
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a great review! We love hearing from our terrific golfers and we look forward to seeing you next time you play!
Great course, just one terrible staff member
Got a great deal to play twighlight for $22. My buddy and I got there about 10 minutes before our tee time. When we were paying the guy helping us said they were waiting on some carts and he would get us one right away and meet us on the putting green. So about 5 minutes later we saw him driving a cart towards us so we thought we were going to get our cart. He ended up giving the cart to a guy that had arrived after me and my buddy. Didn't think much of it just thought they might be running a little behind. But then for the next half hour my friend and I watched him give 5 carts to his buddies and continue to ignore us. At that time I was pretty fed up and went to go talk to him. When I approached him he completely ignored me and continued to chat with his friends. I then entered the pro shop and spoke to a very nice girl who dropped what she was doing and got me and my buddy a cart right away. As I was walking out this guy saw me and used some language I will not repeat on here while chuckling with his friends. So even though this was a great course and deal I will probably never go here again just because of that one employee.

Two thumbs up
It is one of the nicest public courses I’ve been to, and it has a great practice area.
Thank you for the 5 star review! Come out and see us again soon!
Very nice track
Pleasant surprise. 1st time playing here, for the $24.50 special, great deal. Not too many people out at the end of November Our 4some played 18 in 3 -1/2 hours. Course was in great shape. Imagine the greens would be much faster in summer.
Thanks for the 4 star review! We are glad you enjoyed your day on the course! Be sure to check us out next season.
Slowest pace of play!
Played for the first time. The pace of play was excruciatingly slow. I was playing by myself and the foursome ahead of me would not allow me to play through. I quit after playing 9 holes even though had paid for 18.
Tough Greens
Sporty course that has been redesigned. The greens are very tough but true and well maintained. New clubhouse and facilities.
Thanks for the 4 star review! Hope to see you out here again soon!
Thanks for the 4 star review!
Old club. Modern greens
Classic old feel with multitiered green complexes. This can be an excellent course. Midweek it was crazy busy. Overwatered. Divots and ball marks everywhere. Greens punched and shaggy. That is to be expected in September . Pro shop closed at 5:00 well before dark. Seems to be suffering from a lot of play.
Some people think greens are extreme so they may have slowed them down. Greens are the best thing about this course. Nice practice areas for short game. Seems to be run like a muni.
Aerated greens
I believe that the course should advertise that the greens have been aerated I know I got a hot time but to find out your playing in those conditions is ridiculous. The course needs to make money but not finding out till the first hole again is ridiculous
I would have played somewhere else
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am very sorry you were not notified that we were aerifying our greens. We notified everyone who booked over the phone and on our personal website, but next year we will make sure to find a way to notify the people who book Hot Deals through Golf Now.
Thanks for the 4 star review! Hope to see you out here again soon!
Thanks for the 5 star review!
Mt Prospect Golf Course
Course in good shape. Only disappointment was that starter did not have record of our tee time, he was manually writing in names when checked in. Made the tee time 4 hours in advance and were in the computer system, but starter did not have info.
Thanks for the 4 star review. We are sorry about the interaction you had with our starter. Hope you give us another chance and come out again soon!
Thanks for the 5 stars! Hope to see you soon!
Stay away
Extremely slow round over 5 hours. Not worth the $56 they charged as a hot deal. Never saw the cart girl til 17. This is a must avoid .

Awesome green awesome condition
I haven't played the course in many years since I moved out of town. The new renovation turned out fantastic. I was pleased with the pace of play and the condition of the course "especially the greens". They rolled true and quick with not many noticeable ball marks. The staff was friendly and the food was good!! Keep up the good work I'll be back.
Thank you so much for the 5 stars! We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your day with us! Please come and see us again soon.
Great course since it was renovated
Loved playing here. Pace of play was terribly slow. When we inquired After our round, we were told the slow group wouldn't listen to the Marshall- poor way to run this course. Still looking to play again
Thank you for the 4 star review! We understand how frustrating slow play can be and we appreciate your patience with the slower golfers. Please come and visit us soon!
