play this course now
Forgot what a nice course this was and also in excellent condition, thanks Golf now for the reduced rate. Will play again.
its OK
They need to get the rangers out to keep the pace of play moving. We teed off on time but it took 5.5 hrs to play. that's horrible when you tee off at 8:30 in the morning.
Gem for the Price
The course was in excellent condition from tee to green. The staff is very friendly and the refreshment cart, was always around, even on a weekday. Highly recommended.
Slow...play........food needs help
Play took over 4 1/2 hours ranger did nothing to speed things up and food was bad (hot dog and brat put in micro wave to heat and server on cold bun).
This course has been a secret for a long time.
The greens were in GREAT shape. Quick but not too fast. I like fast greens as do most good golfers. I played 17 holes before the heavy rain came, ,that's when I quit. I love your golf course. It's challenging but fair. This course is 28 miles from my home but it's worth the trip. One of the very best tracks in Northwest burbs. I wish you had senior tees on some holes...I'm 74 years old and can't reach the long par 4 holes in two.
Great course for the value
Par 3 and Par 5 are on the shorter side but overall it is a great course for the money.
Had a great time!
Had a blast playing with 3 friends at Prairie Isle, the day we played greens were in great shape just as good as several of the private clubs we play. We spoke with the pro Tyler, he was very professional. The course also has brand new carts. Just a very
nice day with good friends and a very pleasant and challenging but fair course.
Fun & Scenic, Must Play
I have been playing Prairie Isle for 19 years, and never get tired of it. Great layout that is not overly long from the tips(6645 yds), and has many fantastic holes. Great par 3's, all with water in play, but do not play longer than 180 yards. 8 is fantastic, 45-50 drop to islandish green. Holes 12-13 were carved through an old rock quarry, so big elevation drops on both holes make them extremely fun to play. Superintendent does a fantastic job of maintaining the course. Definitely a must play.
Challenging layout
Excellent value and a great golf experience. I used every club in my bag to navigate around this course. Greens were in fine shape for so early in the year.
Early season round
the course was in good condition, considering that we played this early in the season. Staff helpful and pace of play was just fine.
Prairie Isle Golf
First round of the season. Staff was very nice. Course was a little wet with the recent rains. I could see how this might be a slow place to play on a weekend with decent weather. We will be back to try this course again.
Sandy
Greens were terrible with punches and sand, needed a driver to putt. 32 dollars was 20 too much. Difficult place to get to from the city.
great track, scenic course
Beautiful course, nice elevation changes, pace was great for a Sunday morning. Course in great shape, greens rolled true. A little pricey for my taste, but once in a while you have to pay a little more to play a nice course. Cant wait to come back!
prairie isle
The weather was hot but I had fun.
Staffs are kind. I was be
able to start earlier than my tee time.
Great course, Slow Play
This is the first time playing Prairie Isle and it was in fantastic shape. For what I spent on a round for me and my son I cannot think of any course that would be better. Not your typical flat Mid West course. Elevation, and direction changes are throughout the layout. Reminded me of older East Coast courses.
My only complaint is the pace was slow, and the starter did not get the log jam cleared up. It took us over 5 hours to play the 18 holes. We played about 4 holes before catching the group in front of us and we waited on every hole after that. The 2 groups ahead of them were the problem. When we came around to Hole 10 the group in front of us was waiting to tee off. As we were waiting to tee off the group behind us drove up and at that point there were 4 groups on #10. The group 2 in front of us was just getting to the green. It made for a very long back nine.
I would for sure give it another shot because of the layout and condition, but if the slow play is allowed as it was on Sunday I would look to other venues. Nothing worse than standing around on every shot.
This course has a great staff
The course was in excellent condition, and to all the staff GREAT JOB. I would have no problem in recommending this course to any, and all. Thank you
Nice experience except for very slow play
This course has a nice vibe to it and I'd like to play it again sometime. In very good shape and some of the best fairways I've played on all season. Greens were a tad slower than other venues. Holes 11 thru 13 are gems....really well designed holes. I would strongly suggest that you avoid this course on Tuesdays mid-day because there was a group of guys (about 15 to 20 with some that had no business playing the tips) that apparently tee off between 11am and noon and play 5 somes/6 somes and trod around like molasses. They don't care about the folks behind them and the last foursome that teed off of this group as I approached the 1st tee actually warned me that they play slow. A 5 hour round is ridiculous. Got a hot deal....I'd pay $30 and no more to play this place....folks in the clubhouse were very nice....the clubhouse was called by one of the folks in my group who plays there a lot due to the extremely slow play but never saw a ranger. Since no one cares about pace of play my recommendation is limited to playing this track only when there's an empty tee sheet and never again on a Tuesday early afternoon for me. A shame because it was fun play.
Hidden gem
Love this off the beaten path course. Beautiful rolling hills and trees and very sporty. Clubhouse could use some more food choices. Nothing available early for breakfast like rolls or breakfast sandwich, etc. Had to wait for outdoor grilling or dogs, brats and chicken. Good beverage cart service and frequent. Greens in great condition as was most of the course.
Nice Value
Older course that is maintained well. Narrow tree lined fairways make the course a challenge. Very friendly staff.
