Tough and narrow
One of the best 9 hole courses you can play in the Chicagoland area. Pace of play is a little slow because of the difficulty but well worth the trip out there. I enjoy this course because of the difficulty. It makes you a better golfer. Course is not long but just perfect. Staff is wonderful and they make every effort to make sure that your round goes smooth. You have to play the #5 par 5 it is a real golf hole. If you take a 6 on it your doing pretty darn good.
Cold weather
Course was in good condition except for the sand bunkers. Not enough sand makes for a difficult out.

The course needs upkeep. New sand is desperately needed in the traps. The overall pleasantness of the course has declined because they refuse to put even a little money into it.

Rob Roy course
Greens were very good, looks like golfers fits their divot , but the bunkers were terrible maybe because of cord-vid 19.also a lot of broken carts.

Well maintained, narrow fairways
John at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The groundskeepers were attending to leaves on the course and were cooperative when we were playing on the holes that they were working on.
There are four holes that are near water hazards. If I had not been striking the ball so well, it would have been moderate course difficulty.
Fairways were honest and manicured. Hitting into the rough was not the end of the world, as the grass was trimmed well and the turf was in good shape.
We used pull carts which had velcro that needed replacement. But the carts worked fine and the velcro held.
You can tell when the course is maintained with pride. This course is. The greens are very well manicured, although the fairways are relatively narrow in placed.
With the perfect weather, the course was crowded. The pace of play was not horrible, but it was slow. We were following a foursome with two on cart and two on foot. There was a twosome behind us on a cart. We finished in 2.5 hours. With no one in front of us, we would normally be through in just over two hours.
We had a great time playing Rob Roy. Thanks to the staff!

Garbage Greens
horrible choppy greens. Tricked up doglegs and narrow holes. Hate this course. Got stuck here.
