Annbriar Golf Course

About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Great Golf Course Worth the Drive
30 minutes from south St Louis on Illinois side this golf course is nestled in the farmland and wooded area in Waterloo, IL. Worth the drive. Course was in great shape with a good challenge for any level of golfer.

Best public course in this area.
I live in Waterloo but I play everywhere in a 50 mile radius. Ann Briar is for sure the best public course for the money. The sand traps are real and are raked daily to perfection. The rough is a professional rough, tough to hit out of, so don't get in it. The greens are probably the best and truest greens I play. The fairways are like artificial turf they are so nice. They work hard to keep this course in top shape and if I can get a hot deal or a twilight rate, I can afford to play it. Pretty challenging.
Need less to say, the course itself is so beautiful and peaceful. Best public course around.
Excellen Course
One of the most beautiful courses in St. Louis area. It has become my "home course." It is very challenging in the sense that once you get used to the links style on the front, you get confronted with the woodlands on the back. Changes the whole game and strategy. I would recommend this course to anyone.
Best value in the area by far.
Fair, fun, and beautiful golf course. Best public course in the area by far.
Course in great shape
Annbriar continues to deliver great course conditions and play. Greens in excellent shape. Slow compared to primo courses but challenging .Great layout especially the back 9 , giving you choices in your shot making. Got a burger at the turn, delicious and service was fast. Well worth the drive to play. Whatever you do don’t tell your friends how nice Annbriar is. I still want to get on the tee sheet.
Fairways were like hitting off carpet
Always enjoy a round here. Pace of play was less than 4 hours. Course in great shape. Staff pleasant as always
You'll Love It
This is my favorite course in the STL area. I live in NC, but have family in the area so I play here every time I'm in town. Zoysia Fairways are awesome to play on and gorgeous to look at. I am curious to which blend of zoysia this is?
Fairways were in great shape and the greens rolled really nice.
Still A Great Course But Things Have Slipped A Bit At Annbriar
I love Annbriar but here are some things that show they are not paying attention to the small things.
On the front nine, the tee markers were not placed back on the tees after mowing. On the very 1st tee, there is a patch of no grass and it was a mud puddle from the watering. The mowing staff ran right through it and left tracks on the first tee. The fairways have a weed problem in spots and some places have dirt areas. Fairways 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15. 16th tee is in bad shape.
The greens were excellent. Only issue was the back right of green #2 looked burnt.
They do not have enough workers in the restuarant. It used to be a pleasure to have a bite to eat after the round in their restaurant - but this is no longer the case.
Annbriar is still worth playing, however, it is no longer a 5-star golf course.
