Annbriar Golf Course
About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Golfer Reviews
Annbrair Is Worth Playing But Fairways Need Some TLC
Don't get me wrong, Annbriar is still worth playing. However, their fairways are preventing them from getting their customary 5-star rating. Their are numerous GUR white outlines in the fairways. Holes with fairway issues are 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10 & 13. Hopefully, when it turns warmer, they will re-sod the bad areas with zoysia sod and mark them to keep carts off the areas.
The rough is the thickest and most consistant rough you will find on a public gold course. All the greens were in good shape.
A couple of changes you will notice at Annbrair. They have started using red clay on some of the walking entrances from the cart path toward the greens. Hole 12, in the large depression off to the right of the fairway - they have removed the group of trees. Also, on Hole 13, they have removed the bushes at the cart path turnaround by the green. Gives those under the pavilion unrestricted view of the 13th hole.
Hidden Gem!
Fun track with challenging greens and elevation changes. Best value of the dozens of courses I have played in the last 5 years. Super friendly and attentive staff and welcoming members.
Annbriar
This course was emaciated for this time of year. Tee boxes, fairways, greens were just pristine. The rough, well just stay out of the rough and you will be alright. Between fairway bunkers water holes. Just couldn't ask for a netted layout. Can't wait to play here again.
Beautiful course
Course is in great shape Fairways are coming in nicely.
perfect course
no complaints, everything was perfect. for being such a nice course their carts could be more updated to modern gps systems
Best public course in area. Cant be price for this beautiful course.
Great Value
I've paid twice as much to play courses not as good as Annbriar
First Time Playing Annbriar
It was a beautiful day on a beautiful course. My favorite cousin from Seattle came to visit and loves to play golf. I wanted to show off what St. Louis had to offer and everyone said to take him to Annbriar. He plays a lot of courses all over the country and was raving about how nice and how difficult the course was. Don’t play here if you want to shoot your lowest score! I can’t wait to take my Son out to play there.
Great course!
Had a great time golfing here! Great staff and course! Locals were very friendly and fun to golf with! Will definitely be back!
great course
one of my favorites, we got a great deal for $29, which is unusual for this course, so we jumped on the tee time for that price. normally pay twice that at least to play but still worth the money. One of the best courses around.
Annbriar - Top notch public course
Perfect Greens, great layout, super friendly staff (outside, pro shop, and restaurant).
Great price & value compared to other upper tier STL public courses.
Very wet and dormant zoysia that was expected (reason for 4* condition)
Best public course
One of the top public courses in the region,.Fun challenging and beautiful layout..
