Annbriar Golf Course
About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Golfer Reviews
This course was amazing. I had a great day
I would recommend this course to anyone. I had an amazing time. Everyone was nice and the course was in great shape for a cold day.
Among the best publics in the area
From tee to green 99% of the course was in excellent condition. The layout is nice. If you want to play a challenging, highly maintained, always tournament ready course, this is the one.
This course is in pristine shape ! The Staff was super friendly ! I Can't wait to play it again !

GREAT course
Course was in GREAT shape! Greens were smooth and fast!
After 12 holes and almost 5 hours later, we gave up and went home. They had a shotgun start on the back so they over booked before the event.
Usually a great experience. Had someone from out-of-town with me. Was thoroughly embarrassed because of the extremely slow play. Fifteen minute wait to start most holes. Usually two groups on each tee when we arrived at the tee. Horrible experience.
Great Course Just a bad day to be there
Course was overbooked. No marshall to keep up the pace of play. 3hrs 15mins for 9 holes our group quit after 16 holes when we hit the 5hr mark. The outing left a bad taste probably won't go back this year.
Challenging and interesting course
Even with the extreme heat for the previous week the course was in excellent shape with a few brown areas in the fairway that did not affect playablility. As usual, the golf staff was friendly and helpful in addressing our needs.
must play
This is one of the better maintained course in the area. It has been extremely dry, yet the greens were excellent. Fairways were getting a little burnt, yet in good shape. Layout of course from hole to hole is well thought out. Scenic, beautiful, just a fun course to play. Try it, you'll like it. There was a tournament that started just ahead of us, so pace of play was a bit slow. Normally doesn't take as long.
I love playing here
The cousre was in great shape. the rate was great. the lenght of time it took to play was under three hours. I enjoyed playing and using golf now.
Fast greens and well maintained tee boxes and fairways.
The course was great and everything that I could have expected and more. I just wish more courses in the St. Louis area would have their greens this fast. The only problem that we had was that some ladies in front of us would not let us pass them as we were a two man group playing faster then them. They also yelled at us when we hit our shots to the green before they were driving away. Everything else was perfect though.
Excellent conditions
Annbrier is in great condition. I think this course gives the feel of a hilly links course with it's mounds, tall grass for the very errant shots, and some target golf. It's obvious that the weather has been good to courses in St. Louis this year, but Annbrier is always a well groomed course. The higher daily price ($43) is the only detractor, but you do get what you pay for.
The Annbriar is a wonderful course!
You can't go wrong with a round at The Annbriar! The course is challenging, the greenskeepers are in top form, the staff is friendly. It is my favorite course in the St. Louis area! I can't wait to go back.
Nice to play their again. I brought one golfer who had never played there before.
Probably the best public on the Illinois side of the river, but also the most expensive. Its a long drive so only can justify playing 1-2 times a year. Still have some concerns about possible sinkholes. Greens need some work re divot repair. Green fees used to include practice balls, no more.
A Must Play!!!
This course is always in the discussion for Best Course in the St. Louis Metro area. It's gentle rolling hills are a beauty. Tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers are in pristine condition. And no sink holes that I saw. I played it July 5th and was reminded of the delays associated with a holiday weekend. There was no Marshall on the course to keep the groups moving. The biggest problem was that they allowed two-somes to play as two-somes which caused several backups. Get there early and allow time to practice at their range, chipping area, and putting green. After the round, enjoy a cold one near the window and watch groups approach the 14th green. Enjoy!
