Annbriar Golf Course
About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Golfer Reviews
Superb Experience
Annbriar is one of the best courses in the STL area, public or private. Nice design, well maintained and good pace of play. Overall an excellent golfing experience.
Golffing mullet
The front 9 were flat and back 9 were party style. Now flat doesn't mean boring, just not so much elevation change. The fairways and greens were the best iv seen in the st Louis area by far. The staff wasn't snobby and the beverages weren't over priced. A round was a little more than others but absolutly worth it. my new favorite course to golf.
No bad holes!
Great condition-tees, fairways and greens. Drive carts up the fairways. All Zoysia courses should follow this practice. Do not like interior out of bounds. It is OB between 9 and 18 fairway. Did not hit out of bounds, just do not like interior OB. Great golf course all levels of player should enjoy. Super friendly staff.
This is definitely an outstanding course based on the challenge, quality of the course and the scenic views.
All too often small town courses in a farming community are not viewed as great courses. Annbriar will change your mind. Compares very well to the better courses in the Tampa Bay area....but it's certainly not flat.
Many challenging holes with tee to green elevation changes exceeding 50 feet. Hit the wrong side of a fairway and the ball will be in trouble.
Speedy greens in excellent shape...far from flat.
I played the course after heavy spring rains and the course had a few soft spots and the rough in some places exceeded 6 inches. Primary reason why I did not list the course in pristine condition at this time. I've played the course previously and this was not the case.
Good practice facilities.
Great course
The course was in great shape for April. The greens were rolling very well.
Very nice course. Course will look fantastic once the fairways green-up !
Annbriar is one of the St. Louis areas best public courses. Visually, the hidden cart paths, course condition, and club organization make this a welcome day out. Will play again soon !
Beautiful course
Aerated greens, difficult putting but it is expected that greens need maintenence. Slow play in front, bad players hitting from blue tees & marhall was told but did nothing about it.Will give course one more try & hope marshall issue is resolved.
One of best public courses in Midwest
Only complaint is course should advertise when aeration is taking place. Every course should do needed maintenance but should make golfers aware of it. ANNBRIAR about 2 weeks and a little warm weather from being in super shape
Great course, nice staff, restaturant served the best french toast and bacon I ever had.
Very good deal for a very nice course, we only got to play 9 holes because the weather got really bad at the turn, they were very accomodating and gave us a raincheck, restaturant has a variety of food/drink choices. I got there early enough to try their french toast and bacon...very yummy.
Great Course
Worth every penny. Plan on playing it again this spring.
Annbriar Delivers!
I have talked with golf friends about their favorite courses and Annbriar's name consistently comes up. GolfNow had an offer for 16.00 to play and I snapped it up and I am really glad I did! This course was in superb shape and this is in December! Green were challenging but fair. Fairways still had some fluff to them as opposed to many courses that are "hardpan" at this point. The course layout is fun to play. Only a hand full of people were out on the course so I felt like I had booked the entire course to myself which was pretty cool.
I would definitely go back and play this course again and with GolfNow offering great deals, it will always be a bargain.
Terrific place to play
Pace was slow but the scenery is so great, who cares. Greens are a challenge to read. I have played this course several times. It is my favorite in the St Louis metro area.
One of best in St. Louis area
This course is one of my favorites in the ST. Louis area. A joy to play, always in very good condition, even after the awfully hot summer we had this year. Worth the higher greens fee. Even better when I golfed for $20 through Golf Now!
a real gem
played late in the season so the fescue wasnt as high as it should have been, so the course was a little easier than normal. this course is great reminds me of harborside in chicago except where the lake should be there are pine trees. about a 20-30 min drive from dt st louis but well worth it. course in great shape and staff super polite.
Great Place to Play, Can't Wait for the Summer
Annbriar is always a great course to play. This is the first time I've played there in the off season and was not disspointed. As I have come to expect in playing there, the course was as nice as any in St. Louis.
I am a pretty big fan of links style courses and this is among the best in the area. I will definitely try to make it out again this winter. I hope they also continue the $21 evenings next summer.
Definitely worth the drive.
Best public course in st louis area
Challenging but not so difficult that the round is not fun. Pristine conditions. If the course was in Missouri, it would cost $100+ to play. Very friendly staff. Would play here everyday if I could.
Course was in very good shape for late fall golf
Annbriar does a great job clearing leaves and keeping course in very playable conditions. Greens were in excellent condition, except I missed all my 13 birdie putts... (more the golfer's issues than the course). The staff and service were not bad, but not too welcoming and easy for a single to link up with a group of players, I had to find my own foursome on the tee.
