West/East at Arrowhead Golf Club

About
Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton offers 27 holes of championship golf. The entire course features water on 17 holes and 77 strategically placed bunkers. The course is divided into three nine-hole courses that can be played in different 18-hole combinations. The club opened in 1927 but two of the golf courses, South and East, were renovated in 2011, followed by the West nine a year after. The golf courses are all equally challenging but they each have a unique character. The West/East Course starts with the shortest nine but it also has one of the most intimidating water holes, the par-3 seventh, which has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water. With such a challenging variety of courses, it is not hard to imagine why Arrowhead G.C. is considered one of the best municipal golf courses in the Chicago area.

Arrowhead Golf Course
Pace of play was slow, until group let us play through on the sixth hole. Fairways very tight, some of the greens in not very good condition. Players need to replace divots and fix ball marks on greens. The greens are very difficult:, fast, elevated and some difficult pinn placements. Get above hole on greens and no way to stop the ball. Course is very challenging and abit unfair to me, but they get a lot of play.
Pins in position 1, starter gave great advice
The starter said the greens were rolling at a 12 and the pins were in position 1 so stay below the hole. He probably saved me 2-3 strokes
course needs work
I've played the 9 and 18 hole courses a number of times during the past 12 months. i was concerned playing the 9 hole course yesterday because it was in such bad shape. The fairways and greens were nowhere near the condition they were in last year. The course overall seemed to be neglected.
Arrowhead is lovely!!
Everything exactly as one would want for a lovely morning nine.
Great afternoon at Arrowhead. Greens still in early season shape, but other than that is in great shape.
