Paradise Valley Golf Course
About
Paradise Valley Golf Course was voted the top course in Solano County and it is considered one of the best values in the North Bay area. Mature oaks line the fairways and meandering creeks wander across the course, coming into play on nine holes. It is a good course for walkers but it is still quite a challenge from the back tees. Club selection and ball placement are equally important. Paradise Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the par-5 10th. It requires a trio of accurate shots beginning with a well placed tee shot just short of the lake that sets you up for the second shot. You will have to make it past a ravine and a massive oak tree in order to make it to the green, which is protected by both sand and grass bunkers.

Good surprise
Greens were in the best condition I’ve played there.
Didn’t get “Paradised” once.
Solid course
My group and I play here a few times a month, and we drive from San Rafael because it’s worth it.
The greens almost always roll decently quick, and they roll true. The fairways are tightly mowed and plenty of water, there’s even a couple of “wet” areas but I won’t fault them for that. I’d rather have a couple spots where it’s soft than the parched, hardpan you get a lot of places in the summer.
The staff are friendly, and bonus points for the excellent breakfast burrito.
This course is interesting and can be played again and again without getting stale. It’s a test from the tips, with a mix of long holes and holes that tempt us into risk/reward shots. There’s a drivable par 4 on the back 9 which can be a blast if you crack your drive.
The only knock I’ll give this course is that they have a skins group that goes out on Sunday mornings, when we usually play. This wouldn’t normally be an issue, generally guys playing in a regular group are decent and keep up the pace of play. However the last couple times the group showed up with a TON of guys, more than the time sheet would accommodate. I overheard the pro shop staff saying there were 27 of them going out, and that they were cutting them off at that number. That means there were 3 fivesomes and 3 foursomes trying to squeeze out in a short time frame. I’ll give credit to the pro shop as I also heard them saying they turned the last few of the guys away.
I understand the course needs to fill times, and stay busy to be profitable. But fivesomes at any time, let alone a busy Sunday morning, shouldn’t happen. Three fivesomes is ridiculous.
Now to be fair, it wasn’t the longest round I’ve played, but it certainly wasn’t quick.
The last part of this review shouldn’t sway you from playing here. It’s a really solid, well kept, fun course at a good price. Just avoid the 730-830am window on Sunday mornings
Love this course
One of the best and well maintained course in the area. Can be windy at times but still a fun course.
Interesting and Challenging
Excellent course, interesting assortment of holes, challenging and fun. Paradise is a stretch for this preacher man. Ha ha. I’m on the way to paradise with Jesus Christ and all the redeemed by Him.
My son and I really like the course!!!

Mostly flat but a challenging layout
the area is mostly flat but the course is designed in such a way to make moderately challenging. Water or ditches come into play on several holes. Enjoyable place to play and except for a few holes it is mostly quiet on the course.
Vvery enjoyable round.
Course has nice layout. Challenging but forgiving off the tee with large, consistent greens. Super friendly staff made for a very pleasant experience.
Great course, but super slow
played on Sunday. Course was very busy. There were 3 groups in front of us when we got to Hole No 3. (It was par 3, so I understand some delay. Not 3 groups though).
I ended up finishing in 5 & half hours.
Cart has GPS and it calculated hours, so I think club house knew who was behind affecting others.. or they just put too many groups in short time spans.
Course is in great shape, but I would not recommend playing in busy days.
Fun course, good value
Fun course with some challenging holes. Not too much elevation change if you enjoy that. Fairways were in good shape and the greens were fast. Great value during the week.
Great shape
Always love playing at paradise, the fairways and greens are in great shape. Good club sandwiches. Pace of play was great.
A Gem
Paradise Valley golf course is always in excellent condition
Pace of play is good and the restaurant is great. “GO Play.”
Sunday Twighlight
The golf course is great shape. With all the rain it was cart path only on 4 holes that weren't par 3s. This course drains well and can be played if there has been rain in the recent past. I should have walked as it is an easy course to walk, especially when it's a slow Sunday. It took just about 5 hours for the round. We were told once to pick up pace, but were waiting on the box for most tee shots. The trend for this course is over 4.5 hours if you don't tee off before 8am and around 5.25 hours on busy twilight days.
The course is great about youth being on the course. I've been taking my 8 year old for a few years now. For him we play scramble format to keep up with the pace of the course. Look into the Youth on Course program if you bring out your younger golfers.
