About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Golfer Reviews
Blast sounds from the vineyards
I’ve played at Chardonnay a dozen times. I’ve never had such an annoying round of golf in my life. Literally in your back swing there would be gun blast sounds coming from the vineyards, which I’m assuming is to scare away birds. Totally rattling, annoying and frustrating for the entire group. I’ll never play there again. The course was in very poor condition and the greens were incredibly inconsistent. Additionally, it was completely overwatered on several holes, for no reason, and the bunkers were literally mud. Unplayable and completely ridiculous.
What happened to this course ?
I’ve played at Chardonnay previously but this last round, which I booked for my birthday, was horrendous as they had no staff working the place. No cart attendant, no drink cart on the course, the grill and snack shack were closed, so also no food at all.
Not as nice as it used to be
For the hot deals price that we paid, it was fine. We would have been very disappointed if we paid full price. The greens were nice, but the fairways were a little beat up. There a lot of forced carries that have a lot of foilage in them so say goodbye to your balls. There was drinking water at the turn, but nothing on the course unless it was at the bathrooms which we did not use. The ball washers mostly didn't have towels and some didn't even have water. The course has seen better days.
I love it but…
It’s a lovely course with fantastic layout.
Challenging course.
But I think they’re having maintainance issues.
Poor condtion will not stop me from playing there again but needs to be taken cared of.
Great value - but not perfect
For the very reasonable greens fees, you will have to deal with some standing water on the course and some very unkept bunkers. Other than that, it's a really enjoyable course with greens, while slow, were rolling very true.
Meh
I will first say, the layout of the course is great. The tee boxes need some love!! Greens the day I played, hadn’t been cut or rolled for a few days. Also!!! Make sure you don’t end up in a “bunker”, they have zero sand in them!!! I
Interesting, difficult greens
A nice layout with some very interesting holes. Greens can be very difficult with pins on narrow shelves, or tucking into small corners. Wind is an issue.
