About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Poor shape
The course is in very poor shape. None of the bunkers have any sand, the tee boxes are uneven and the greens are bumpy
I wouldn't play there ever again
Not bad , getting better still needs work
Tee box, need some love and care... A lot of them is UN even, feels like a gopher just held a party in it.
GREENS a lot of patches of spot ISD yellow and uneven. The green rolling consistency need to bed controlled, after 18 holes I can't even grasp with ones are far sand which one is slow. It is hard to put like that
Mud traps
The only issue i have is the mudtraps.
Is sand that expensive?
They really need to do something.
Raking mud isnt the answer
Bring your A game
Your short game is tested constantly. Wedges and putter will be required to save par. Reading small breaks with speed control is a must.
I enjoy the test way more than the score achieved.
Has seen better days
Have played this course many time through the years. It seems to be getting worse as time goes by. The greens were still in good shape but overall the rest of the course is pretty run down.
Hopefully
Now that the rainy season has ended, hopefully they can do something with the sand traps.
Some drinking water shouldnt be that hard either.
Beautiful and challenging course
The course is set in a beautiful vineyard setting. The fairways and greens were in great condition. The rough was tough, grass was long. The greens were in great condition but was challenging.
Greens
The greens haven't recovered from the recent airation process. The dew was heavy most of the round..10am tee off. I don't think they have been mowed either
Some of the greens are 8x longer than they are wide.
You couldnt hit your putt hard enough to get it to the hole.
Putts that would have never stopped were 5+ feet short.
Raking bunkers isnt required no sand, just packed mud.
Sure is pretty though
Very tough course
They aireated the greens last week. Definitely needs another week or more. They were finishing the rough being cut. Another inch or 2 and it would have been diabolical.
The sand traps and par 3 tees need way more care than they're getting. Stay out of the bunkers and in the fairway and you wont notice how difficult the course can be. Until your on the greens. Chardonnay is not for beginners keeping score or lowering your handicap.

Played with senior discount so price was awesome.
Great course. Interesting layout that is challenging but still very playable for a high handicap golfer. Loved the grass driving range. Only downside was that the carts need upgrading and there weren’t many grab and go options for food.
