Oakmont Golf Club... sounds prestigious doesn’t it? The clubhouse is average, the course is average and the pace of play was average. Id normally give this course a 3 stars for average but the scenery made this a 4 Star. I would come back and play the next time I visit NorCal, although it wouldn’t be one of my top options.

It would have been nice to have been told there was a big tournament in front of us when we booked the tee time. Also, the course was extremely wet and I thought Oakmont had done a sanding program for years. Not sure if it's helped much.

I am a new member at Oakmont, but played this round with a group. The pace was slow as molasses. 5.5 hour round. Golf staff was not knowledgeable and didn't seem to really want to be there or maybe it was more of having customers was inconvenience for the head pro who was behind the desk. There are many other courses that will WELCOME you to their course and appreciate your business. Unfortunately, Oakmont is not one of them. The course is the only reason to make the trek. It is a good layout that will make anyone work for a good score. The bar is reasonable but they cannot accommodate food allergies, so if you are like me, plan on eating elsewhere.

Have played this course over 1,000 times, I live here. Pretty course, scenic views of the Sonoma valley. This is the heart of wine country. Course conditions can be good, rarely great. Various types of grass on the fairways, even some crab grass. Some bare hard pan spots. Lots of heritage oak trees. Some even in the middle of the fairways. Cart paths are beat up, lots of rough patches and some potholes. Think of Oakmont as a classy municipal course minus the slow play and muni hooligans. On a quiet day I've played this course in 3 hours, walking. Nice employees in pro shop & restaurant. Restaurant food is acceptable, not gourmet. Prices are reasonable. Rack rate green fees are reasonable enough, especially during the week, but for super deals use GolfNow for amazing discounts. Often 50% lower than the golf shop rate.

Oakmont West is a good challenge for anyone. Course was in good shape even though some renovations are under way. Tough par 4s even one particular par 3! I've been here many times and always have friendly interactions with the staff but on this occasion the guys in my group did not. I booked through golf now and was happy with my rate, the others weren't happy at all. Seems that they were told one price over the phone and were charged another when our group grew from 4 to 8. Not sure why Oakmont did that but it really upset the rest of the group.

It was a good price and I like the course I just wish i was notified about the wedding taking place on the course so we were unable to start on the front 9 and 18 was closed.

Oakmont has one of the more picturesque mountain settings around with views on both sides of the Sonoma Valley. Conditions were perfect and the greens were rolling truer than I can remember. We played in 4 hours which was terrific. Great value.

The course is in great shape tee to green. The only drawback are the bunkers, not well maintained.

The greens were tough but it was a fun challenging course. Lots of trees and wildlife! Would recommend for a round of golf!

I'm still learning to play and this course allowed me some difficult and easy holes to simply get bettter.
