The rough is terrible! If you hit your ball 3 yards off the fairway, you will have trouble finding your ball. This leads to a slow pace of play and an overall worse experience. There are better options in the area with great course conditions
Well designed but needs lots of work
It needs to invest in drainage! The course is always wet! Very poor conditioning. If they could figure away to invest in the golf course thus could be a very special track! With that said... the people are very nice the cart girl was terrific!
A Marshall needed to get involved over 5 hour round!

There's no question that the heavy rain events and prolonged periods of high tides (all of our water drainage is tidal) from storms have kept us a bit wet, but that's something that's always a challenge in a coastal area. We have invested a significant amount in course drainage and continue to do what we can to minimize the impact on our guests. We do appreciate the compliments on our staff and our Robert Trent Jones layout, and hope that conditions will be a bit drier the next time you visit. Happy golfing!

Great experience ruined by Staff
Beautiful course in mostly very good shape (infestation of large wasps on 11th or 12th green) and one sandy tee box was ruined by what I can best describe as an overzealous starter
The starter should serve as an ambassador to your course and this person took his job in a different direction. Demanded to search another groups cooler, overly rude when I went to take the cart to the parking lot to obtain something I left behind, but the central issue was accusing of us of playing as a five-some at the turn when in fact he knew that 5 people were in our group, one of them was a gentleman who payed to ride only because his son was too young to drive. He claimed he had received multiple complaints, but should have done more to tell the other groups the situation instead of accosting us at the term as if we were criminals stealing. We won’t be returning to Ocean Pines next year when we return to Ocean City despite a beautiful course that is convenient to where we are staying. Thank you sir for ruining an otherwise terrific day

Slow Greens & more
Greens very slow ... Not true at all. Pro shop staff charged extra for a companion even though I called and was told they would not. Having said that, the cart attendant/starter were wonderful friendly no people.

Disappointing
Had not played since last summer when there was no clubhouse or restaurant. Checkin was great and employees were helpful and friendly. Found that it was cart path only even though there has been no rain for at least a week. Fairways and greens were in great condition although greens were very slow. It was over 90 degrees but we did not see the beverage cart until the 9th hole - very disappointing.
Would not recommend.

Although cart path-only status is most frequently associated with rain, there are other reasons that come into play. In this case, we had had just seen 5 days with close to 1000 players. Because of this, as well as the extended period of hot, dry weather we've had, the course just needed a break from carts for a little bit.
We do run our beverage cart daily in season from about 9:30-10am until 6pm, so that could explain why you didn't see it until the 9th hole, depending on when you played. We are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations and hope you'll give us another try. If there's any other assistance we can provide, please let us know. Thank you!

The course did not have my round booked in their system but I still got charged a booking fee of $2.49 by Golfnow. Staff said they would advise Golfnow regarding this.

I booked tee time thru golfnow. When I checked in the course had no record of my booking. Golfnow still charged me a booking fee which should be refunded.

Flags and pin hole locations were not even in the ground. They were covered with a foam insert. This course was in terrible condition compared to other courses in the area. Was shocked
Thank you for sharing your feedback. You happened to play on a day when our maintenance crew was aerating the greens, which is why the course looked so much different than usual. We hope you'll come back and play on a more typical day! Our new clubhouse is also scheduled to open by May 1, so we have lots of exciting things in store for our guests this year. Ocean Pines Golf Course
Original great design however many trees and needs updating. Positively a more difficult course now. If your handicap is over 20 do yourself a favor and play the forward tees. With my 18 handicap we used the member tees but did not concern ourselves with scoring.
Great course for low handicaps.

We do offer several sets of tees so that people can choose the distance most comfortable for them and have a fun, successful round. We did have a few holes that were stressed from a particularly hot and dry spell and have been operating out of a temporary building while our new clubhouse is being built, but the course is recovering and clubhouse construction is underway. We hope you'll visit us again once the dust has settled, and that you'll let us know if there were any particular problems you encountered during your visit.

Overall, giving this course a one star rating is over doing it. conditions of the course were horrible to say the least. We have played courses for $30.00 w/cart that put this course to shame. They are adding a new club house, they should be putting the money to improving the condition of the course.

We did have some spots on the course that were impacted by an extremely hot and dry spell this summer, but our maintenance crew has been working hard to address the issues, most of which we feel have now been resolved. We can tell you that we have had a significant amount of rainfall and prolonged high tides (our drainage is affected by tidal patterns) from a recent hurricane. Unfortunately, when the course is wet like that, it makes it difficult for our maintenance crew to get out and mow, especially the fairways and rough. We imagine that's what caused the conditions you encountered when you played. Those conditions don't represent our normal standards, so we do hope you'll decide to give us another try.
