Course
Tee boxes were in a little rough shape and a couole of greens were patchy. However, in general the course was in good shape. Would play it again.

Sunday Treat
Our Group enjoyed our day at Ucean Pines. Course conditions were less than perfect due to recent aeration. Excessive sand on all greens. They were extremely slow.. Despite this problem we enjoyed our round
Thank you so much for your five-star review and for sharing your feedback. Aeration is one of the necessary evils of course maintenance, unfortunately, but we're glad it didn't interfere with your enjoyment of your round. The course is in beautiful shape right now, so if you get the chance to come down to the Eastern Shore this fall, we hope you'll be able to stop by and play another round with us. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you out on the course again soon!
Thank you for sharing your review and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. Our maintenance team includes a new superintendent and assistant superintendent, who have already done a fantastic job addressing some course condition issues we had at the end of the summer. We're looking forward to a great year of golf and hope you'll join us for another round soon. In the meantime, please reach out to our PGA General Manager of Golf John Malinowski at golf@oceanpinesgolf.org if there's anything we could do to improve upon your experience. Thank you!

OP Review
The course layout is great and challenging but the conditions of the greens, fairways and rough were a bit rough. However there’s indications that there’s investment happening into the course. I would expect better conditions next year.
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. The course experienced some stress at the end of the summer. but we recently hired a new superintendent and assistant superintendent who have addressed the issues. The course is already in fantastic shape due to their efforts, and we're confident that if you visit us again you'll have a different playing experience. We hope you'll give us another try and look forward to seeing you out on the links again soon!
Don’t play here
Overall, course needs to be shut down for the season and fix all their issues. Tee boxes had way too high grass (just cut it!). Fairway lies played like first cut rough. First cut rough was practically a lost ball in their horrible deep crab grass. Greens (mostly) simply unplayable, very fuzzy, needed to be cut and patches of new sod in areas. Should stop taking $ and fix course for next season
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. The course experienced some stress at the end of the summer, which you experienced during your round. However, we recently hired a new superintendent and assistant superintendent, who have already addressed the issues, which we shouldn't have again going forward. The course is already in excellent shape due to their efforts, and we feel confident that you would have a very different experience should you play us again. We do hope you'll decide to give our Robert Trent Jones-designed course another try and look forward to seeing you out on the links again soon!
Not great.
Starter was not pleasant. Course conditions were bad.

We normally pride ourselves on our great team, so it's disappointing that your experience didn't live up to our normal standards. We're also sorry that course conditions were lacking during your visit. The course did suffer some stress at the end of the summer, but our recently hired superintendent and assistant superintendent have already addressed the issues, which we don't expect to have going forward. We know that should you choose to play Ocean Pines Golf Club again, you would have a very different experience. We do hope you'll decide to give us another try and hope to have you play another round with us again soon!
Awful
The worse course I have ever played I will never come back
Thank you for sharing your feedback and our apologies for the poor course conditions that you experienced during your round. The course did suffer some stress at the end of the summer, which was clearly evident when you played. We recently hired a new superintendent and assistant superintendent, who have already addressed and largely corrected the issues you encountered. Were you to play a round with us now or in the future, you would definitely encounter a different course than the one you played. We do hope you'll give our Robert Trent Jones course another try, but regardless hope you continue to enjoy golf in the greater Ocean City area.
poor maintenance
RTJ would roll over in his grave if he saw how this course has gone to pot!! Crab grass on the tees, and fairways. Bare spots on some greens where you cannot find 15 feet of puttable surface. They had play only on the front nine as they were aerating the back nine grrens. For what purpose? The money was put into a new clubhouse by association ownership, . the course has been on a downhill slide for years as.the income produced from golf is allowed to disappear.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and for your concern for our Robert Trent Jones-designed course. The course did experience stress at the end of the summer, which resulted in the poor conditions when you played. However, we recently hired a new superintendent and assistant superintendent, and they have already identified and largely addressed the issues you encountered during your visit. Course conditions are already dramatically different than when you played, and we don't expect to experience the same issues again. We do hope you'll decide to try Ocean Pines Golf Club again and to see that we're once again proud to live up to the our RTJ lineage, but regardless hope you'll continue to enjoy golf in the Ocean City area.
Abysmal condition of the greens . The majority of the greens had significant patches of dead or missing grass. Staff blamed aeration 2 weeks prior however most of the greens I would considered lost. To make matters worse what grass was on greens was long and not mowed. Fairways on nearby courses roll better than these greens. Don’t waste your time until they dramatically recover the greens
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. The combination of course aeration and stress experienced at the end of the summer definitely resulted in poor conditions when you played. However, we recently hired a new superintendent and assistant superintendent, and they have already identified and addressed the issues encountered during your visit. Course conditions are dramatically different now compared to when you played, and we expect those conditions to continue in the future due to our maintenance crew's expertise. We do hope you'll give us another try the next time you're playing in the area, but regardless hope that you continue to enjoy golf on the Eastern Shore. Thank you!
Worst Course Ever Played
The course was in horrible condition. The fairways were hairy, the rough was very high and full of weeds and most greens had long areas of no grass. I’ve played public golf course in much better condition. After 9 very disappointing holes we quit and went home. I feel the course should refund me for the two fees I paid.
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us and our apologies for your disappointing round. The course did experience some stress at the end of the summer, which is what you encountered when you played. However, our recently hired superintendent and assistant superintendent have identified and already addressed those problems, which we don't expect to encounter moving forward. Course conditions are dramatically different now than when you played, and we're proud to offer a golf experience worthy of our Robert Trent Jones lineage. We do hope you'll give us another try, but regardless hope you'll continue to enjoy golf in the Ocean City area. Thanks again for playing.
Garbage
The course is in horrific condition, and the staff is rude and dismissive. They charged us the full fee, even though we didn't actually tee off until well after twilight. With so many options in ocmd avoid this course and their awful staff. The Glenn riddle courses are a far better option and only 5 min away. Won't go back, and I have a house in ocean pines.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. We're definitely sorry to hear that you were treated rudely by our staff. We pride ourselves on having a friendly and helpful team, and to hear that you experienced otherwise is disappointing to us.
While it would be helpful to know more about the fee you were charged for playing, we can tell you that as an Ocean Pines resident you should receive a discount on public rates (with your Ocean Pines resident ID card), including the twilight rate that begins after 3pm. However, if you happened to book your round through a third-party agency such as GolfNow, then you'll be charged the regular public rate as those websites don't offer resident rates. To receive the resident rate, you should book through the Ocean Pines Golf website or by calling the Golf Shop.
Regarding playing conditions, the course did suffer some stress at the end of the summer when you played. However, our recently hired superintendent and assistant superintendent have already identified and address those issues, and the course looks dramatically different now than when you played. We're looking forward to a great year of golf and do hope you'll give us another try the next time you come down to stay. Regardless, we hope you continue to enjoy golf in the Ocean City area and that you'll let us know if there's any way we can offer our assistance in the future. Thank you!
Nice layout
The t boxes were in bad shape with very little grass and crab grass. Balls rolled off fairway and lost balls . Grass could have been cut lower. The greens were air rated a week ago and there were large areas that needed seeding. It could have been from all the rain this year.
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. We're glad you enjoyed our Robert Trent Jones layout but are sorry for any disappointing course conditions you encountered. The course did experience some stress at the end of summer which, when combined with aeration, would definitely have impacted your round. We recently hired a new superintendent and assistant superintendent, who have already identified and largely addressed the issues you experienced during your round. We don't expect to deal with those issues again and are looking forward to a great year of golf. We do hope you'll stop by again for another round soon and that you continue to enjoy golfing in the Ocean City area. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your review with us and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. We're sorry you had a disappointing round, but want you to know that our newly hired course superintendent and assistant superintendent have already corrected the issues you experienced when you played and that the course is currently in great shape. We're looking forward to a great year of golf and encourage you to give us another try. We're confident your experience will be very different this time. In the meantime, we'd welcome any additional feedback you might have and encourage you to contact our PGA General Manager of Golf John Malinowski at golf@oceanpinesgolf.org. Thanks again, and happy golfing!
Thank you for sharing your review and honest feedback. We're sorry that you experienced less-than-ideal course conditions when you played, but can tell you that our recently hired superintendent and assistant superintendent have addressed the issues you encountered. The course is currently in great shape and we're looking forward to a great golf year - one that shows off our Robert Trent Jones layout to its full advantage. We hope you'll give us another try, but regardless hope you continue to enjoy golf in the Ocean City area. Thanks again!
Choose as a last option
Greens and fairways show a lot of stress. This is not a championship course, is the rough so high. Balls just off the fairway hard to find and leads to extreme slow play. Staff was friendly and carts were of the path on most holes. Many other courses available in the area with much better playing conditions.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, and for playing Ocean Pines Golf Club. There's no question that our area has been hit by some extreme rain events lately, as well as extended high tides from recent storms, including a hurricane. Since our drainage is dependent upon the tides, sometimes there's just no where for water to go. This also makes it difficult for our maintenance crew to get out and mow, especially the fairways and rough, which may be what you experienced during your round. While these kinds of conditions do happen, especially this time of year, they do not represent what the course conditions typically are. Although we do have some limited areas of stress (again, not uncommon for the end of the summer) our course overall has been in great shape. We do appreciate your patronage and hope you'll give us another try. Fall is a beautiful time of year on the Eastern Shore, so we hope you'll have the chance to do some more golfing soon!
Slow, over priced, and terrible staff
This course has a great layout but doesn’t place any value on customer experience or satisfaction. The club house doesn’t except cash which is very odd and inconvenient. We didn’t see the beverage cart until hole 17 because according to the attendant it’s hot and it takes a long time to stock the cart and get moving. Allow me to confirm what several other reviewers have complained about...... expect this course to be CARTS ONLY when you arrive. 16/18 holes I played were dry and even had one employee rolling his eyes because of a lack of 90degree rule or any other attempt to minimize walking and increase pace of play. To wrap this review up I’ll include that the starter/attendant dropped my bag while carrying it to the bag drop. This resulted in a new vokey wedge getting scratched. This is definitely not a friendly course to anyone who is disabled or is looking for a relaxing round. $100 round with $.50 service and attention to detail.
Dear Ocean Pines: some of your rates are here are $85. Hopefully you knew that. Add the convenience fee and taxes and you’re approaching $100 just like the reviewer stated.
I can’t understand why you tried to pretend a different course got reviewed. Way to take responsibility for course conditions.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're so sorry you had an unpleasant experience, but wonder if perhaps you have us confused with another golf course as our fees are not in the $100 range. If you did play Ocean Pines, however, we would definitely be interested in hearing more about your visit and trying to address the problems you encountered. Please feel free to reach out to our PGA General Manager of Golf John Malinowski at golf@oceanpinesgolf.org or 410-641-6057. Thank you, and happy golfing!
Thank you so much for the five-star review and for your feedback. Some of our greens suffered some stress at the end of the summer, but our recently hired superintendent and assistant superintendent have addressed the issue and the course is in fantastic shape right now. We're looking forward to a great year of golf and are glad to hear that you're willing to play another round with us again soon!
