What do people pay to play there on weekends?

The conditions are etrocious! Fairways they like to say are dormant. You need grass to have dormant grass. No overseeding. Grass filled bunkers. Nor all but many. Real golf courses overseed, but here they have not done this in many years. When i first came to California in 2011, it was overseeded and tour quality. Now they keep jacking the rates to palm springs prices but give you 4 or 5 pretty holes and thats it. In fairness the greens were ok.

I can play any day i like but i feel bad for the weekend warriors who pay stupid rates for a course they dont maintain. Why do the rates keep going up when they dont put money into the course to improve conditions? Oak Quarrys attitude is if you dont wNt to pay 200 plus on weekends then play somewhere else. I nevervthought gof would get to this point but it has.

The course is beautifully layed out however the price does not match the experience. Pace ofbplay is a huge issue (5+ hour rounds) due to their 8 min tee times dispersal and 0 enforcement of pace of play. Our round had us on the tee box with the group in front us (a threesome) every time they teed off.

The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape but the greens rolled very slow and the bunkers varied wildly from being filled with sand, black mats sticking out of the emptier bunkers, and fully empty GUR bunkers. The price tag for such a slow experience is what kills people's enjoyment of the game. It's a shame as the experience could be excellent with small modifications in management. Would not recommend unless you enjoy overpaying for a snail's pace.

It makes no sense why they would not have a beverage/snack cart and is basically the only course around that doesn't have a beverage/snack cart.

This course surprised me pleasantly, the second you walk on you are greeted by a friendly staff team who will give easy to follow directions on where to go. The course conditions are incredible, and while the course is not necessary “cheap,” it is beyond worth the money. I hope to be back as soon as I can.

1) This course is outrageously priced, Goose Creek is far superior in terms of the conditions of the course

2) Fairways were in horrendous shape

3) rough was so thick, every ball in rough was lost

4) spray painted hole signs- TACKY

A lot of doglegs and much fun. Great views and nice layout as well as course conditions.

I only have four words for this course: amazing, awesome, beautiful and challenging. Even for a newbie like me.

What’s with the greens? Worst I’ve ever played at a course that costs almost $200. Super bumpy and slow. Would not recommend or play again because of the greens.

We played only 16 holes in 5 hours - horrible pace. 2-3 groups on every hole! No Marshall! Only cashiers who gets money! Even though the course is in top 100 list, the greens are very bumpy, and many bunkers are under renovation. Not worth to play unless they make space up tee times (10 min. between group?) and get course condition to their previous level.

I had played this course once before a decade or so ago and remember being impressed. This time around, not so much. The fairways were less than impressive and many bunkers were under construction (filled with black asphalt instead of sand).

Additionally, there is no turn before the back nine, so no opportunity to grab food and drinks. There is a snack bar on the course, but it was closed. Also, there was no drink cart on the course.

All in all it was a poor experience and I will not be back nor recommending this course to friends.

Had a good time at Oak Quarry, liked the course layout and landscape.

Super super super slow today. They didn’t have a marshal out there either. Took 4 hours to get through 13. I’ll try again because I’ve had a round in the past, but disappointed given how much we paid. Also disappointed in the fairways and tee boxes, but greens were nice.

We normally love this course, but this was by far the worst shape I’ve ever seen it in. The greens were beyond slow and bumpy, the fairways are in bad shape on a lot of the holes, and most of the bunkers on the course are in the process of being renovated, and because it’s around the holidays, there is no break on the pricing which is a shame.

When we arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled late morning start time, the staging area was jam packed with dozens of people. Upon approaching the desk, the cashier advised that they were running 45 minutes behind, that pace of play was running about 5 hours, and that there was no way we would finish in the daylight. Upon further inquiry, they acknowledged that there were 7 foursomes in front of us waiting to go out, which would have been much more than 45 minutes. The only reason a course should be running 45 - 60+ minutes behind is a frost delay, but the weather was nowhere close to frosty that morning. Weather was bone dry and in the mid-60's. $125 per person didn't seem a fair price to wait at least an hour, wait on every shot, and maybe play two-thirds of the holes, so we cancelled and walked away extremely disappointed.
