Oak Quarry Golf Club

This course was amazing, with stunning views, elevated shots, and each hole was secluded and without neighboring golfers. Just a wonderful golfing experience with terrific staff and new carts. The natural beauty, plants and flowers around the course was also picturesque, with rugged hillsides, and deep valleys, making it a feast for the eyes. The course and greens were in terrific shape, and the only suggestion I have is for a men’s and women’s locker room for changing. Will definitely return.

Stunning layout and majestic views with unique holes and elevations. Almost all holes had no visibility to other holes/golfers, so very natural and private on each hole. Golf carts and staff were top notch also. Wish there was a locker room for changing, my only suggestion. Definitely a must see course. Will definitely return soon!

Oak Quarry is a fantastic course. Honestly can say I have never had a bad round here (score excluded). Beautiful setting, challenging, yet forgiving. One of my favorites in SoCal.

Really liked they layout, course in pretty good shape considering all the rain. Only minor complaint is greens a little bumpy and slow pretty sure that’s due to rain and not being able to maintain greens because of that weather. Definitely playing again and again whenever I’m in SoCal.

I don’t mind playing a course with punch greens specially when it’s been ran and I want to get out of the house but you got to say something especially when it’s $175 round of golf you’re basically just taking ia 2 put on every hole. I played here years ago and I love the greens and they’re probably nice ordinarily but I wouldn’t have played this course for 50% off.

I made my reservation on GolfNow to take clients for a round. The cost per 18 holes was $ 153. The day before the round, I received a call from the course confirming my tee time. On that call, I was told by the course that the greens were punched 4 days earlier. He said that the manager would not discount that rate even though the greens were very sandy and littered with black pellets (guessing pellets were fertilizer). He also said the website tells you that the greens had been punched. I looked today - no mention of aeration anywhere.

I like Oak Quarry, the staff is very friendly, BUT how can you charge full price for a course where the greens are unputtable.

The manager needs to think about his customers. I drive over an hour to play his course. I will likely drive to Goose Creek in the future. I am sure their management would not try to sell a very disappointing course at a pristine course price.

This has been my favorite course in Southern Cal for a long time but my latest round has me asking why for the following reasons:

At over $100 it is one of the more expensive courses so you would expect it to be in good shape. Greens were punched and sanded with no notice or reduction in rate. Bunkers full of water and not maintained. Changed the layout a year or two ago but can’t seem to get new hole number monuments. No Marshall or if there was one he was invisible. Had a group of young punks in front of us with four carts??? 1 person to each cart. Range Balls beat to crap and $10 for a tiny bucket. The list goes on…..

The course is challenging but fair with some target shots. Very scenic and overall in good condition. Played in 4 1/2 hours - not too bad for a Friday noon round.

I’ve played golf all over the country at some prestigious courses (Paynes Valley, Torrey Pines, Sand Hollow) just to name a few and this ranks in my top 10 golf experiences! The layout is challenging and demands control of your tee shots, but the views from just about every hole is incredible! Set inside an old marble mining quarry, the 16th par 3 signature hole is just beautiful! Greens were in great condition, fairway grass still dormant, but in great shape. I will play here again and would recommend this course to anyone looking for a memorable golf experience!

@ $125 for a weekday round w/ $10 range balls, it was disappointing not to see a marshal or on-course service. I’m not usually one who wants to see the marshal coming, but a 5.5 round on a Thursday morning is over the top, particularly with no sign of a marshal anywhere to push the pace.

As for the course, the conditions on and around the greens were quite good. Tee boxes were solid as well. The bunkers were inconsistent wrt to the amount of sand. Fairways were quite hard, but it is still the winter season. Give it a month or so and the course will be in great shape.

I really like this course and have here a number of times over the years. Everyone on staff was very nice. It’s simply too bad that the on-course experience Left a bit to be desired at this price point,

Staff the starter was not so friendly , was very surprised. Maybe not having the best day…

The course in pretty good condition especially after the storm we’ve had last few weeks

This course had great views and challenging holes . Grass and greens could use some work , but not a biggie. Has the potential to be a great destination if the clubhouse and amenities would be upgraded .

Absolutely loved the layout of this course. The views were incredible. This could be a top notch course if they simply spent some money on the bunkers. They were dirt traps.
