Twin Birch Golf Club

About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

Still a Great Course
This is a great course! No wonder it was recently voted one of the top three in its region. The fairways and greens are well-maintained. When you're on the course, you constantly see workers engaged in improvements. Because the clubhouse is under construction at present, a lot of the amenities you might expect are not available. There is no drinking water or restrooms on the course. The directions from one hole to another could also be clearer. I drive about 50 minutes to get to this course, even at today's high gas prices, because it is well worth it!
Another great round
Golf course is in great shape. Greens fees are reasonable. Can’t wait for the clubhouse to be finished. Will complete the course.
Nice little course in Michigan
Great course
Greens very good and I liked the layout
A few carry holes
I think the gal I brought really liked the course.
I think because she holes out from the bunker for par.
Next time in Michigan, I would play here again
Twin Birch Review
My family owns a house on Fife lake so I was looking for a value course around the area. This place fits the bill if you are looking to work on your game and challenge yourself at the same time. Tight fairways but forgiving woods. Tucked away in the backwoods of Kalkaska, this course was a great value spot and nice woods scenery. If you cant afford Bay Harbor but want the same up north feel to a course, this is it. The one thing Ill complain about was just having a hard time finding the "clubhouse" which is under renovation.
The one thing I took away from my round was how nice the staff was, especially the owner. He stopped to introduce himself, friendly young guy.
Challenging and fun
This is another beautiful Kalkaska golf course. The greens were in excellent shape. The fairways were pretty good. Quite a few hazards, especially gullies and wide swaths of vegetation to hit over. There were a lot of workers out there working to maintain the course. The clubhouse no longer exists. A new one is under construction. There is a toilet trailer. I did not see any port a potties or restrooms on the course itself. The staff were friendly and helpful. The carts had a rain shade and ball washers, very useful, given the iffy weather.
Twin birches. A Hidden Gem
This is a very nice course! The greens and indeed the whole course was in impeccable shape! Although the course was busy, everyone moved along nicely so there were few hold ups ( ok, it was a Wednesday morning). I didn’t see a single weed on the whole course! The clubhouse is being re ugly so amenities are lacking at this time, but the bathrooms were surprisingly bright and clean. I would go again.
Beautiful wooded Course
Not as plush as other Northern Michigan golf, but if you like a well cared for course with narrow tree lined fairways and natural beauty wherever you look, you will love this course. Hit it straight and the course is pretty easy. Hit it crooked and you are in for a long day.
Currently no club house, but will be building one soon. Porta potties for now.
Golf with my grandson
Great value golf course! We were staying at a beachfront motel in Traverse City! This course was a short ride and a
great value! We will return again next year!

Hey Lois! Thanks for golfing at Twin Birch! There are three bathrooms located on the course. Hole 14 by green, hole 4 by tee bow and one by hole 11 by green.
