Twin Birch Golf Club

About
The beautiful setting of Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska features stands of red pine and birch trees lining the fairways and the Boardman River, which winds its way all throughout the course. The golf course is mostly flat with the exception of a few raised greens on the back nine. The greens on the front nine are level with open fronts, inviting players to attach the flags. There are ample landing zones along the tree-lined fairways, making Twin Birch a golf course that will appeal to beginners and high handicappers but there are still challenges in store for the more advanced golfers as well. Some of the doglegs holes can be quite tricky. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along some of the greensides and water comes into play on eight holes.

Our hometown course!
This is mine and my husband’s go-to course. It has everything to challenge you - woods, water, sand, you name it. Today we encountered a turkey, crane and a deer on different holes crossing the fairway. I love this course!
Twin Birch
Pretty flat course BUT really picturesque. All the fairways are lined with trees so not a shooting gallery at all. We’ll definitely go back!
First timer. Better than it looks from the street.
I drive by this on my way to Grandview. I thought I would try it. I was pleasantly surprised. It is nicer than it looks from the road. It kind of looks like a mom and pop operation but it is actually quite nice. I played after a week of rain. The course was very nice as far as the tee boxes, fairways, and greens.
I thought i was in for a slow round as it appeared there were a lot of retirees but it went pretty good.
My only complaint would be the exorbitant prices for food out if a food truck. $10-11 for a hamburger and $6 for a hot dog. Really?? At a food truck. Heck you don’t pay that at high end courses in a million dollar clubhouse.
Disappointed
The clubhouse is torn down. Looking forward to thar new one.

Great course
Paid $18 for this course and was expecting very little, it amazed me with how good it was, only issue was seemed to have a lot of newer golfers playing and slowed down the pace a little bit
great value
very hidden gem for the price. narrow and challenging but plenty of chances to score.
Hidden Gem
This course is a gem! The fairways and greens were probably the best condition of any course we have played this summer. The restaurant was closed due to Covid but they had snacks/drinks available in the pro shop. We highly recommend this course when you want a break from the prices of the resort courses in northern Michigan.
Hidden Gem
We come to northern Michigan to golf every year, and usually play some of the more well-known, expensive courses. We found this course at the last minute for a great deal, and we were so impressed! The tree lined fairways were beautiful, especially during the peak season of fall colors. This was one of the best kept courses we've played this year. The fairways were kept clean, and the greens were in outstanding condition. Some holes were easier and straight away, while others offered some challenges. This is a course where you can enjoy a round of golf with people from a range of abilities. We will definitely be back! (Note: restaurant is closed due to COVID but they did have some snacks available in the clubhouse).
The course was well kept greens were in very good shape even at the end of season when we played. The 16th hole was a little odd for a par 5. Played 420 yds for men and 215 yds for women a gully in front of women’s tee where there was a dogleg left for men, just a little different for sure but all and all the course was fun to play and we will play again when in the area
