Eldorado
About
Eldorado, located just south of Cadillac, has built a reputation as one of the best golf values in the Great Lakes area. Conveniently situated at the US-131 and M-115 interchange, the course has a scenic northern Michigan setting that is easily accessible. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills laced with flowering wetland areas. The golf course features elevated tees and generous green complexes with subtle but tricky undulations. Most of the greens are sloped back to front. The opening nine is more forgiving the back. There aren't as many forced carries and you won't be as severely penalized for missing the fairway. Eldorado's final hole is one of the toughest. This par 2 requires a long and accurate tee shot and the approach across a sizeable water hazard leaves little room for error.

Very good experiance
First time played. Fairways & greens were in great condition. Corse played fair but with some challenging holes. Very friendly/helpful staff. Reasonabley priced
Good Time
This was first time playing this year. Was a little disappointed in some of the conditions given the cost of play. With golfnow we got a deal but if we had paid full price we would have been a tad upset. Fun course and staff is excellent!
Great Place to Play
Greens are very good for early season. Course is not wet making ball carry good. fun course to play.
great course staff was super
Course was in great shape for this late in the year. The greens were recently aireated. Staff apologized but they still putted fine. Great course would definitely play again.
Eldorado, top of the line
went up north to see the colors, and play some golf. Was not disappointed . Course was set in rolling hills bathed in fall collars. a bit wet due to recent rain. Even from the short tees is challenging. As a bonus the food is good in the restaurant
nobody enforcing pace of play
this is the slowest pace of play for 18 holes I've ever experienced. Well over 5 hours. By the time we finished it was after 7 pm and freezing cold. Other than that the course is very nice. There are at least 3 holes that were impossible for my wife to navigate with a 3-wood distance of 130 yards. Rather than giving a ball to the swamp she dropped on the other side. Be prepared for lightning fast greens with tricky pin placements.
Enjoyed playing the course
Everything about the course is great...
Except the the highway noise - very unfortunate for a northern Michigan course. Nothing that can be done about it.
This course has hazards.
This was the first time playing this course, the course, the greens and tees were in excellent condition. I did notice a number of soft areas in the fairways. The course has at least one and sometimes multiple hazards in play on most holes. The greens are generous in size but difficult to read due to the gradual elevation changes and gentle undulations, the greens are quite fast. A challenging course.
amazing
Could not be happier!! Helpful and polite staff, amazing course in great condition and a heck of a deal!!! We WILL be back!! Great job Eldorado!!!
Do Not Miss Eldorado
Eldorado is in immaculate shape. The course has wide fairways, huge fast and true greens, and enough hazards to make it a challenge for all skill levels. I believe there are six sets of tees to choose from so you can match your tee box of choice to your handicap. What makes Eldorado a good challenge is that many of the greens are defended by marshy areas where there is about zero chance of retrieving a ball. It really creates a big risk/reward decision on nearly every hole.
Beautiful course
This was a beautiful course and I would certainly go back to play it again!!!!
Heads Up
I felt like I was going to get hit by a golf ball way to many times. Your second shot on the first hole is a landing area for the driving range.
Overpriced.
For a course that is nearly $70 to play, we were somewhat disappointed. The conditions were just ok. They don't do the little things to make it worth the money. The yardage on the cards don't match the yardage on the signs and there are hardly any sprinkler heads that have yardage on them. Very frustrating for a course that wants to be thought of as a top teir course.
Eldorad
1st one off as a 2some b4 8AM. Played 11 holes b4 it started to drizzle, and then got progressively worse. Called it a day after 17. Pro was very engaging and hospitable. Course was a little rough as rain had caused them to get behind in mowing. A must play if you're in Cadillac.
Disappointed in pro shop staff
We were the third group out and played the front at a perfect pace. We were very disappointed when we made the turn to find out that they were putting people off the back in front of us. In particular the FIVE some that looked like they were just learning to play the game, the group in front of us got them to let them go thru and we finally skipped 3 holes to get around them after sitting on the tee behind them. We informed the pro shop how unhappy we were at the turn and again when we were finished.
Eldorado - Tough layout
Challenging course for playing it for the first time (you'd score 5-6 shots lower if played again). Course is nicely laid out with a combo of open and wooded holes with some challenging shots, carries to the greens. Overall, a very enjoying round. Would play again if in the area.
Absolutely the best value
The Eldorado is a must play in Northern Michigan. 5 different tee boxes will challenge any level of player. The course is always in good shape, and the pace of play is good.
Was reading comments and found this one from my uncle and I can back him up. We play 5-10 times a summer and are never disappointed. Morning breakfast in town (don't ask to substitute cottage cheese cause you won't be able to) and then 18 at Eldorado. Can't beat the value and it's up there as one of our favorites
Very tough course
Get day , hardly anyone there played 18 in 3 hrs. Very fast greens but too many long carry's to hit over. Other than that great greens and wonderful conditions.
Vacation golf in Cadillac
The course was in immaculate condition. The friendliness of the staff was a pleasant surprise, as they greeted you in the parking lot, as well as when you made the turn. 5 different tee box's made the course playable for all skill levels, and really impacted how you played the course. Lots of hazards and challenges, but all were manageable. Great deal on golf now made this a fantastic day. 8am tee time and we were done by 11, playing at our own pace!
Always an Amazing course!!!
I have golfed this course several times. It is always in fantastic
shape and proves very challenging.,
The course was re-measured and the sprinkler heads re-marked this spring.
