Eldorado
About
Eldorado, located just south of Cadillac, has built a reputation as one of the best golf values in the Great Lakes area. Conveniently situated at the US-131 and M-115 interchange, the course has a scenic northern Michigan setting that is easily accessible. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills laced with flowering wetland areas. The golf course features elevated tees and generous green complexes with subtle but tricky undulations. Most of the greens are sloped back to front. The opening nine is more forgiving the back. There aren't as many forced carries and you won't be as severely penalized for missing the fairway. Eldorado's final hole is one of the toughest. This par 2 requires a long and accurate tee shot and the approach across a sizeable water hazard leaves little room for error.

Very Good Conditions
The Day was great, the course was in very good condition. Very good practice greens and range. Tee boxes, fairways and greens very good. The back 9 more difficult than the front -- keep it in the fairways.
Eldorado, worth the stop !!
Fantastic course and staff, I would recommend to any golfer travelling through the area !!
A must play
Course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was 3.5 hours. Greens rolled true and quick but not too fast. Great food in restaurant. Very friendly staff. A must play course.
Fun and the course makes you think but very fair
Great fairways and fine big greens.
Staff was excellent.
Weather was great.
Teammate was just fine.
Gal who served us a brat
was very "nice".
Will be back there soon.
A must play
Played the course on fathers day with long time golfing buddy. We were treated right from the start through having lunch on the varanda as if we were everyone's (who worked there) father! The cart boy, the men in the pro shop, the cart ladies and our waitress for lunch were just outstanding! The course had some challenging holes but with the multiple tees we were able to play to our ability! The course was in excellent condition, great layout, fabulous views, could not find one thing wrong with the whole experience....thank you Eldorado for one of the best golfing days the two of us had maybe ever!! We will be back...lunch was excellent also!
Needs rangers
We were a twosome & there were 3 foursomes ahead of us plus a 5 some right in front of us. we waited at every hole & it was 3 hours to play 9 holes. There were many dead grass spots on the fairways & at the top of the hills grass was mowed way too short. Traps have a gravel type mixture with very little packed down dirt & too many stones.
Topnotch
Extremely challenging course, but fair.Allows you to use all of the clubs in your bag.
Very good experiance
First time played. Fairways & greens were in great condition. Corse played fair but with some challenging holes. Very friendly/helpful staff. Reasonabley priced
Good Time
This was first time playing this year. Was a little disappointed in some of the conditions given the cost of play. With golfnow we got a deal but if we had paid full price we would have been a tad upset. Fun course and staff is excellent!
Great Place to Play
Greens are very good for early season. Course is not wet making ball carry good. fun course to play.
great course staff was super
Course was in great shape for this late in the year. The greens were recently aireated. Staff apologized but they still putted fine. Great course would definitely play again.
Eldorado, top of the line
went up north to see the colors, and play some golf. Was not disappointed . Course was set in rolling hills bathed in fall collars. a bit wet due to recent rain. Even from the short tees is challenging. As a bonus the food is good in the restaurant
nobody enforcing pace of play
this is the slowest pace of play for 18 holes I've ever experienced. Well over 5 hours. By the time we finished it was after 7 pm and freezing cold. Other than that the course is very nice. There are at least 3 holes that were impossible for my wife to navigate with a 3-wood distance of 130 yards. Rather than giving a ball to the swamp she dropped on the other side. Be prepared for lightning fast greens with tricky pin placements.
Enjoyed playing the course
Everything about the course is great...
Except the the highway noise - very unfortunate for a northern Michigan course. Nothing that can be done about it.
This course has hazards.
This was the first time playing this course, the course, the greens and tees were in excellent condition. I did notice a number of soft areas in the fairways. The course has at least one and sometimes multiple hazards in play on most holes. The greens are generous in size but difficult to read due to the gradual elevation changes and gentle undulations, the greens are quite fast. A challenging course.
amazing
Could not be happier!! Helpful and polite staff, amazing course in great condition and a heck of a deal!!! We WILL be back!! Great job Eldorado!!!
Do Not Miss Eldorado
Eldorado is in immaculate shape. The course has wide fairways, huge fast and true greens, and enough hazards to make it a challenge for all skill levels. I believe there are six sets of tees to choose from so you can match your tee box of choice to your handicap. What makes Eldorado a good challenge is that many of the greens are defended by marshy areas where there is about zero chance of retrieving a ball. It really creates a big risk/reward decision on nearly every hole.
Beautiful course
This was a beautiful course and I would certainly go back to play it again!!!!
Heads Up
I felt like I was going to get hit by a golf ball way to many times. Your second shot on the first hole is a landing area for the driving range.
Overpriced.
For a course that is nearly $70 to play, we were somewhat disappointed. The conditions were just ok. They don't do the little things to make it worth the money. The yardage on the cards don't match the yardage on the signs and there are hardly any sprinkler heads that have yardage on them. Very frustrating for a course that wants to be thought of as a top teir course.
The course was re-measured and the sprinkler heads re-marked this spring.
kball128,
I am sorry to hear that your experience at Eldorado was not what we strive to provide.
Since your frustration during your round of play was not communicated to us at that time, I would be more than happy to have a phone conversation with you, so that we can better the experience for others.
