Eldorado
About
Eldorado, located just south of Cadillac, has built a reputation as one of the best golf values in the Great Lakes area. Conveniently situated at the US-131 and M-115 interchange, the course has a scenic northern Michigan setting that is easily accessible. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills laced with flowering wetland areas. The golf course features elevated tees and generous green complexes with subtle but tricky undulations. Most of the greens are sloped back to front. The opening nine is more forgiving the back. There aren't as many forced carries and you won't be as severely penalized for missing the fairway. Eldorado's final hole is one of the toughest. This par 2 requires a long and accurate tee shot and the approach across a sizeable water hazard leaves little room for error.

greens crew
had a 0800 tee time, beat most of the greens crew out there, none of the greens were mowed, still had all the dew on them, very very slow greens because of it. other than that, great course.
Beautiful Course
We had a great time playing Eldorado. It's a beautiful course that is challenging and well maintained. The only complaint is that it took over 5 hours to complete our round! There was no course ranger present and pace of play was not monitored.
Great layout!
This is a great course that plays well to all levels of golfers. There are five sets of tees to chose from depending on your level of play. The course design has a great mix of hole layouts. You can be lured into complacency on on some holes only to be jolted back into reality with the challenging layout of many other holes! The scenery is great, staff is ultra friendly, food is good, you won't be disappointed!
Great Experience!
My wife and I played this course for our first time Labor Day weekend and were amazed at the condition and friendliness of the staff. Course is somewhat challenging for higher handicappers as there are many forced carries. A lower capper like myself did not have a problem. Course is in amazing condition with some of the largest greens I have ever seen.
Tough Greens ,fast greens .
Probably should have played a tee forward then what I played.
Played the Power tees. Good set up for all levels of golfers.
Beautiful views, I recommend playing this course.
Greens fast even though the course was wet.
Really liked the challenging back nine. Front nine was just o.k. Staff was very friendly and dining area very nice.
Worth playing once. Really liked the challenging back nine. Front nine was just o.k. Staff was very friendly and dining area very nice.
Fun Course
We enjoyed playing at Eldorado. Greens were fast..plenty of slope....Good Value.
great course!!!! tough greens. open fairways. dont like the rock yardige.
Challenging greens! Great condition! ! Will be playing again.
Great Time. Enjoyed the course.
Course is in great shape. Played fast until we caught up to some others on the back. Greens are very fast and took about 12 holes to get used to them. Birdied the tough last hole to cap off a fun round.
One of the funnest courses you can play
We played 4 different courses during this excursion. This was by far the most fun course we played. The greens are extra large, which makes it fun for a few reasons. Plenty of challenges, with the water and woods. Nice long course, but forgiving enough to have a great time
AWESOME COURSE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
My husband and I played this course and would definetly go back again ! It is right off the highway so it was a perfect stop on our way home from up north :) Although it was a little busy it was well worth it. The course is greatly maintained and staff would very friendly!
Excellent Rate!
need some distance markers though for those who havent been here before. and bathrooms opened on the back 9
I love Eldorado! My son and his friend played there in early June playing 9 on our own then the two 15 year-olds take me on in a best ball. Fun...
?... course. And what a value! Oh! We had vouchers in which we just paid for the carts. Worth the drive up from Grand Rapids when golf is only $15 per golfer!?!?
Large, challenging greens!
Very scenic course while sitting on balcony at clubhouse. Rolling hills with woods, trees, creeks, marshes and ponds. Bunkers looked well maintained as did the entire course. Large, fast greens with a lot of contour made putting a challenge but not unreasonable! Don't believe/trust the signage on the tee boxes, most of the time it didn't even match the yardage on the scorecard (which we presumed was probably more accurate). This was one time we wish we had GPS or Range Finder, although most of the "boulders" indicating distance to green (200-150-100) seemed fine.
One of the best in the area!
Sweet course! Must Play Course! Large fast greens, distance above average!
Fun playable layout
The course was in overall great condition. My only reserve is there were a ton of grass clippings left around greens and fairways (rough) making some shots off the fairway impossible to find. Greens were in great shape, pretty slippery on a couple holes. Excellent array of tee choices. Would be nice to have a tip sheet for hazards and distances for new players.
Nice
Nice course...inventive layout some surprises around blind areas. Very tough to find yardage markers GPS recommended. Also plays shorter than yardage on almost every hole. Recommend you play with someone who has knowledge of the course for the blind shots (pond right on 5, fairway opens up left on 18, etc). Friendly staff the grounds crew seemed unwilling to move or shut down equipment during your shot ...would be the only negative...fast greens not many bunkers. Wide fairways and large greens make it forgiving in that sense, but not much rough between the fairway and hazards...play smart...overall good course
A beautiful, challenging course
This course is long and challenging, and a whole lot of fun. Highly recommend.
Scenic and a good challenge
A very nice course in the Cadillac area. Very well maintained and scenic. I played by myself and there were a few surprises. It is a course you need to play more than once or play with someone that has played before. It is well worth the trip
