Has Potential But Needs TLC
You can tell that this was a very nice course at one point but for some reason they are just not taking care of it. The course layout is fantastic with tree lined holes and all kinds of elevation changes, especially on the back 9. The greens have not been cut in a while it feels, they were very slow and the fairways had many dead spots. The course has the potential to be among the best in Livingston County. Hopefully they begin to take care of it!
Help!
Could see where this was and used to be a nice course.
have not played here and years and don't think I"ll be back. An hour drive is not worth the conditions. Fairways are in terrible shape along with tee boxes. A few greens are suffering also. One bright light is a few greens are in great shape. Also very little interaction with staff. Must go and get your own cart from cart barn area.
I hope that someone would invest into bringing this course back before it turns into another Housing project.
Going downhill fast
I have played several hundred rounds at this course over the years. Has always been one of my favorites. I live on the golf course and ham for close to 20 years. We have been through three owners to management companies all have done great. However of late the course conditions are as bad as they have been in the 20 years I have lived here. Hopefully they will get things on track and restore it to its former glory
Going downhill
I used to play here all the time but course conditions have deteriorated. Greens are diseased and too slow. Great course, please maintain better.
Great Coarse
Very well kept.Greens are in good condition just a great place to play
Getting worse
Great layout but conditions have been deteriorating in past few years. Greens were still mostly good; a few spots were poorly repaired. Tee boxes are terrible, little grass, very uneven. Fairways so-so, mowing inconsistent, some places high, some almost scalped.
Course needs work!
Nice challenging course for the money
You really need to know this course to score well. Lots of elevation changes and slopping fairways. I lost a few balls the first time I played. I came back and still lost just as many. The houses do not crowd the course at all, (usually only one side of a fairway). For a community course it is surprisingly wild and scenic. The pine trees are everywhere, and their roots have rendered some of the cart paths undrivable. Cats are gas powered and noisy, but at this price the layout, fairway and greens condition are a real bargain..
A great course with an up north feel.
We had an excellent round. The course was laid out nicely and was in great shape. The changes in elevation and tightness of the tree lined fairways gave us an up north fell to our round. The pace of play was great, no waiting for groups ahead of us, and no one pushing us from behind. The staff was friendly and helpful. we will definitely play there again.
Great layout fast greens
Had a great round today at Whispering Pines the greens were super smooth and the fairways were tight and narrow. Maintenance of the course was amazing for being a small lower budget course. Definitely worth the money if you’ve never played. Really scenic views and a great price.
Could be a nice course
Cart paths are in terrible shape. Tee boxes are mostly divets and weeds. Some greens were covered in goose crap. Biting flies everywhere. It's almost as if there is no course/grounds maintenance except grass cutting on the fairways and greens.
Nice inexpensive round
Lots of trees down recently. But made one par 3 more playable
Don't know what course you played but far from the rating you gave it. Very generous to say the least.
