Needs help
We've been playing here for years. It is one of my favorites. I was so sad today to see how bad the course looked. Tee boxes dried out and undeveloped. Greens slow, fairways dry and dead. First few holes really bad. Then it got a little better. Please someone help this course.
Terrible conditions
I have played at Whispering since they originally opened. I usually enjoy the course and like the layout. On the whole, It is in the worst shape I have ever seen. Greens are ok, but slow. Understandable with the heat and dry conditions. Some fairways are fried, weeds all over the tee boxes and rough, and people driving off cart paths have created massive dirt patches around greens, tees and other areas. $40 is about $35 too much. Sad to say I won’t be back.
Nice layout terrible shape!
Course was in terrible shape. Tees not level. Fairways were spotted grass not cut. Greens were not cut and slow. Don't understand how this a featured course. Feel like I was ripped off paying $64 for this course. Deserve some type of refund or credit for playing this course,
Nice staff
This course was a bit tight for my play, but wasn't too bad. What was bad was the lack of grooming. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a toro s mast cutting a golf course, always special mowers built for golf courses. The rough was super high. The greens were over grown or covered with debris. Too many rocks in the sand traps. It took a while to get a trash can or bathroom. Both carts we had sounded pretty rough, mechanically. But the price made up for it I suppose
The staff was exceptional!
Challenging
Seemed to be mowing every hole and maintenance on sprinklers maybe? Keep in fairways and its great veer into rough and you will pay for it. Personally this course kicks my butt....... But i love it and will be back. Little bit of everything and at $25 normal or hot deal for $12 i feel its worth it. Cart paths are sketchy in spots but im not there to drive around so who cares.
Needs ALOT of attention
Where to start. Golfed here last year with hopes the pandemic would be over and they would be able to spend some money getting what could be a nice facility and course in a beautiful subdivision up to par.
Clubhouse: needs alot of updating from simple exterior peeling paint to landscaping to inside. Pro shop lacks selection and e-payment system seemed to be malfunctioning (according to employee). Grill was only serving hot dogs (apparently the chef starts at 4pm only before June).
Course: cart paths are a disaster throughout the entire course, need to be tore up and redone. Hole marking is lacking and confusing (especially 13 to 14). Be prepared to walk ALOT if you do not get a cart. Course is lacking maintenence and was overgrown from roughs to greens.
Carts: outdated and in need of maintenence.
A shame they have let it go. Could be a nice course as it is challenging in its design for the average to above average golfer.
Greens had not been mowed
The greens had not been mowed in many days. Very slow. I don't think I will go back.
terrible
stuff on every green...literally had to take auto 2 putt on every hole....i wont be back...terrible upkeep
Greens not in mid-season form.
Challenging layout but greens were on the slow and bumpy side.
Needs work, early in season, hope it improves
Course needs work. Too many tight lies and bad spots on fairways and greens. I'm going to say it is because it is early in the season and hope they can work on improving the course when the weather warms. Also, why were there so many uneven lies on the tee boxes? Teeing areas should be flat, it's hard enough to hit off a side hill lie but from the teebox, really?
Course Has Improved!
I last played Whispering Pines near the end of the 2020 season and came away hoping someone would put some TLC into it. This time our group noticed the improved course condition and all thought it was a great value.
Whispering Pines
Nice layout for the average golfer. Staff was great.
Only issue is course maintenance. Looks like there has been a little neglect to course maintenance over the past few years.
That said there is no reason why I would not play again.
