Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis
About
The Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis is an 18-hole, public course located in Little Egg Harbor. George Fazio designed the challenging course, which has a yardage of 6,848 at the longest tees with a par of 72. The course also features tree-lined fairways and greens of bent grass and water hazards that come into play on some holes.
Ocean County Golf Course at Atlantis has a particularly tricky 6th hole since there is a pond in the middle of the fairway that you must get past in order to reach the green. The golf course used to be private so it features all the amenities that a private club would have such as a restaurant and pro shop.

Greens
Tee boxes are better than most, fairways are pristine. Greens were horrible. Very bad.
Overall a nice fun course with a good layout
Greens need to get better.
scubakiter
good value for the price - nice course
players tend to be
Great course
Really enjoyed this course. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Greens needed some work(hard and bumpy) but for beginning of April can really complain. Can't wait to play here again
Playable
Even though coming off mild winter ,greens are horrible even with growing season approaching I don't see much improvement!
Not maintained
Acknowledging spring has just started - still disappointed in the conditions - especially the greens. Geese and what they leave behind are too present throughout the fairways. Not sure when the greens were last rolled but they were rough - pebbles and bumps on all. yards of properties adjacent to the course looked like tha of Sanford and Son - debris thrown all around. Thankfully we didn't pay much or would have been even more disappointed. If some nice spring weather shows up - they won't have enough time to get course in the condition it should be. Have enjoyed this course in the past.
Just happy to be able to play in February- the course is a little rough right now; greens sanded and bumpy, fairways just ok. I suspect it is budgetary restraints (county owned) that keep this course from being top notch. Good value and tee times readily available.
Interesting Track - 1st Time
This was a great rate for an interesting layout & the Pub was outstanding. Greens were "bumpy", but unfair to hold that against course for this time of year. Lots
of fun, 'ceptin #17, where I took a 10 - LOL!
GOOSE DROPINGS
IT WAS HARD TO FINE A SPOT TO TEE YOUR BALL UP ON 3 OUT 18 HOLES
Fun course
Hometown course. Summer was brutal on the conditions this year and the staff has really worked hard to get it back. Seeing some repairs still being made and new tee boxes being made for senior/ladies. Always enjoy playing here.
RECOVERED NICELY
I had heard that August-September were tough, but conditions were ok. November 3 was 75 degrees. Slope is 120 from the gold tees. White is just too long for Senior golfers. Two very long par-3s play short from the golds and allow chances for birdies. Lots of carry bunkers make pars on the 4s real achievements.
People are extremely nice.
Nice layout and challenging
Nice course. Some challenging holes.
Things are improving .....
Played here about six months ago and what a huge difference in the overall condition of the course. Fairways are in very good condition / As well as the greens and the tee boxes. Definitely a huge improvement from last time I played - definitely going in the right direction
Great Course and Greens are improving..
The Greens were in really rough shape, mostly dirt, but the Greens are now growing back and some temporary greens were in place.
Addition of new snack bar with hot dogs at the turn.
Food, snacks and drink prices cannot be beat at snack bar.
Ranger is very friendly and courteous.
Greens
I was surprised that the greens were such bad condition. I'm not sure if they have a disease or fungus but they are pretty ruff
Shape. Over all I love the layout and small greens.
poorly maintained county course
lots of long term neglect at this place. Typical of a County facility that has workers with no skin in the game. working was cutting greens while on his cell phone and making tire ruts!
It's a shame because it's a nice layout. Ocean County should bring in a Management Company to run it and invest some money to get it back in shape. It would take a few years but would be worth it to the residents of Ocean County.
The Absolute Pits - Worst it has ever been!
Whatever you do, just don't go here until perhaps a month from this date i.e. August 22, 2016. It is in the most deplorable condition anyone has seen in the last 10 years. It isn't even a golf course any more.
Apparently, there is NO irrigation for the greens, fairways, tee boxes, etc. The greens are mostly just brown dirt and dried fuzz. Balls roll completely off the green with a gentle wind.
It is an absolute nightmare.
The Ocean County Freeholders / Parks Department should be ashamed of representing this lunar landscape as a golf course. To charge full price is robbery. People wouldn't play for free if it was offered.
Can't fault the staff really. I feel certain that they do what they can with what is clearly cruel under-funding.
Do yourself and your friends a favor and wait until nature can do something to fix the course.
The shabby and even dangerous conditions of the cart paths, tee boxes, bunkers, even the carts, however cannot be blamed on Mother Nature.
That is just shameful neglect.
A fun course to play
This course is a lot of fun. Many open fairways, but if you are not straight you can end up in some trouble. The course overall was in very good shape, however some of the greens were showing some signs of wear from the weather. The staff was very friendly, had a great time there.
I have no idea what course you might have been playing. Could NOT possibly have been Atlantis. The Atlantis I played on August 22 was a burned out, broken down disaster. Beauty seems to be in the eye of the beholder indeed.
Bad Shape
The heat has taken it's toll on the greens. 50% of the putting surface is dead. Somebody decided to run a piece of equipment across the greens leaving deep tire tracks across the putting surfaces. The bunkers have not seen a trim in weeks or perhaps months. I brought a guest from out of town and it was embarrassing. Played here many times and have not ever seen it in such poor condition. Its too bad because the course has a great traditional layout and is challenging. Somebody left the classic car in the field to rot. Shame.

What did you do to my home ...I am disgusted with the staff..and the town ....I cannot believe they let a beautiful course like this DIE.....and the staff says not our fault....well you surely took the compliment the last 5 years ..stay away from this. Disaster..
