Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Great Track
I was playing well despite the rock hard greens due to the cold. Approach shots were similar to hitting a cart path instead of a a green. That’s what you get when you play on January 15, it’s not a complaint just a fact. I love this course and it’s the second time playing Quail. I doubled the last 3 holes to drag my score to 91 and played with the same ball the entire round.
I recommend this course and will look forward to playing it again in milder conditions.
This course is in amazing shape for late November. Tee boxes where good. Fairways in excellent condition. And greens wow they rolled perfect. I would recommend playing here. The value was good. If you are a walker a lot of distance between some holes. If I changed anything I would have taken a cart
Nice surprise
First time on this course. Certainly one of the nicer Somerset County courses. Good layout with challenges on many holes. Variety of Par 4"s. Greens were immaculate and quick. Will be back!
Good shape for the fall
I always enjoy playing here. Greens were in good shape for it being mid November

Excellent , I highly recommend . Course in tournament ready shape!!!! Leaves somehow nowhere to be seen. Tee boxes green and manicured. Fairways almost without diviotts.
And the greens almost without a ball mark to be seen. . Also not to leave out the bunkers throughout . Sand is clean and soft . Hats off to all that obviously take pride in what they do here!!!! Very Impressed
Outstanding County Course
Quail is a top notch county course including excellent conditions and a well designed layout. It’s about the best I’ve seen from a county course with the exception of Neshanic. Are there better high end courses? Of course but Quail needs to be recognized as one of the best in the county category. I’ll be looking to forward to making the hour drive again to play here.
Superb conditions
Played quail brook for the first time in a few months, somerset county is doing a great job. It was excellent course conditions and I look forward to a shotgun Turkey shoot or New Year’s Day outing that I usually participate in. I live in the eastern part of morris county and this course is easy to get to. Worth the 40 minute trip every time.
Dont expect to beat the sun
1pm tee time, held up 45 min as they ran out of carts. Many are walking to slow it down even more. We managed 14 in before getting dark my group of four carts cut across to empty 17 but the group behind of 4 walkers ran foward and got rude. We waited but they were too slow. The day ended on that note. It's a county course after all. No great views or holes. The traps had sand that was not concrete. The fairways seemed wide open. Few dog legs. Often reached in two but putting greens though looked in good shape never cooperated. For the right price I'm sure I'll play it again.
No One Playing!
The reason no one was playing because it was going to rain at 2pm. Got there earlier hoping to get out sooner. But scheduling through GN I became a second class citizen! The guy behind the desk that day was a real Tool! The starters at this course are some of the nicest guys and they are totally excluded from this review! I PAID MY MONEY AND THERE IS NO ONE ON THE COURSE SO THROW ME A BONE AND LET ME AT LEAST GET 9 HOLES IN!
Golf 11.5.2020
This is the second time playing this course. The course was in very good shape. Greens. good speed and good shape I like this course. I drove 1Hr. 15 minutes to play. I will be back.
Nice course (on a rainy da)
Was glad they were open on a day it rained all morning. Nice layout, wide fairways, fast greens.
No carts as promised by Golfnow
We waited an hour for any carts to be returned so that we could ride, as was contract by GolfNow. We teed off 45 minutes late. Never finished the round. Tee time was 1:50. Be wary.
Course was In very good Condition.
Very Nice Greens
Solid course...Greens were very nice & some of the best for NJ public golf. Tee boxes & fairways good as well. Not much to the layout but a good experience overall.
