Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Greens great
If folks would fix their ball marks the greens would be perfect. Overall condition is very good. The back nine took 2:30 and tends to slow dramatically. Range balls too expensive and are rocks.
Great Course. Worn out carts tired staff
Our round delayed waiting for an available cart.
Cart was on its last leg and dirty. We had to abandon it on hole 12 battery died. Staff is fried.
Guest service lacking in a big way. Pace of play very slow waited on every hole. The course itself is a great layout. No value here. Our “Hot Deal” was ice cold. Not a great experience.
Quail Brook
Great course both layout and conditions love playing there worth the money and the 40 min ride highly recommend this course
Awesome Conditions!!
Haven't played Quail Brook in a few years and me and the gang gave it a try today. Bottom line is we will be back. Awesome conditions from tee to greens. A enjoyable challenge today since the course was dry and firm. Greens were rolling great today and in awesome condition. One thing I notice was divots on the tee box were repaired with seed and dirt. WOW!!!!. They really take care of this course.Give it a try!!
First time here.. Will definitely be back more times this fall!
Course was beautiful.. Greens were impeccable and people actually repair their ball marks on this course! The layout was challenging but not ridiculous.. Just a nice course all the way around! Can't wait to see this place in the fall when the leaves start changing!
Reasonable course
The fairways are well maintained and so are the greens, it’s not a very challenging course but it’s still nice. Don’t expect off course amenities

Play this course a few times I haven’t played it in a year or so read the reviews on golf now so we gave it a try the course is in the best condition that I can remember the fairways very well groomed and a great shape greens fast an true the tee boxes very good
overall price outstanding
Solid
Labor Day weekend Friday afternoon and the course was in very good shape and the pace of play was good even though it was booked solid. Finished in just over 4 hours. Very well worth the $45 rate via GolfNow.
Nice Course
Staff was friendly and helpful from the start to finish. Driving range and putting green nearby and great condition. Course is in great condition, greens fast, was a little soft so I can imagine the greens speed will be quicker on a dry day. All in all a great first visit.
Great county track
One of my favorites in the area. Beautiful layout with parkland openness on the front 9 followed by the more challenging nicely rolling back 9.
Well maintained with fast true greens.
A good day out!
Great Course
I live right around the corner and just started really committing myself to golf the past couple of months. I’ve played at scotch hills and Hyatt, but Quail Brook is by far my favorite. The layout of the course is beautiful
Quail Brook Course
I’ve played here 5 or 6 times now, and this course is one of my favorites in New Jersey. It’s always very well maintained, the layout is fantastic and the greens are always in top condition. Well worth the price to play here.
Great course in the suburbs!
This was my first time playing Quail Brook as I had no idea the quality of the course. But a friend told me how much he enjoyed the course so I decided to give it a shot.
I'm glad I did. We walked the course and the layout is dynamic with enough uphill and downhill shots, dogleg shots, blind shots, etc to keep the entire round interesting. The tee boxes were in great shape and so were the greens. The green speeds were fair - not too fast but probably on the slower side given how nice the quality of the greens were. I expected a bit more speed.
But pace of play was great, which is rare for a muni. The course is laid out over 2-3 properties in a sense and if you walk, you'll get a nice workout.
Highly recommended.
I didn't interact with any staff except the starter so I gave 4 stars and didn't use any of the facilities so I can't provide any opinion. Don't hesitate. If you enjoy Neshanic Valley, you'll enjoy this course. Completely different vibe because this is more parkland, tree-lined but the quality is the same.
