Want to play slow golf?
Waited on every shot except putts. The pace of play was awful. Saw a ranger once and he did nothing to improve pace of play. Won't be back!!!!
Overbboked and a waste of time
If you like slow play due to overbooking this course is a total waste of time
OVERBOOKED & Walk on 4 somes
Although I have played this course several times & really appreciated the layout and pace, NOW it is SEASON, and they are overbooking. Tee time was 2:35 and never got on to course because they allowed 2 foursomes of walk-on players with no desire to keep pace of play, hence the 4 some ahead of us never got off until after 3 & we had to wait until 3:20 to start. As such, with sunset at 6 PM, we just finished 9, although we paid for 18. Furthermore, the pace of play created the "disruption of rythym" desired to enjoy play. So, I guess the lesson is to only schedule 9 if you have to play in the afternoon when there is ANY chance you might have to finish at sunset. All in all, however, would I play there again? Yes. Not in season; or AFTER checking with starter if there is any chance this could happen again. I really felt sorry for those berhind us who had to leave the course before even finishing 9 of the 18 they paid for.
slow
The first 6-7 holes were extremely slow. 7 minutes between tee times is not enough. After that it got faster. 4 hours 35 minute to play a 5,000 yard course is way too long. Greens were pretty good. No complaints. Fairways are typical FL. at this time of year...not much grass. Nice bar with reasonable food
prices. $3 for a jumbo hot dog and chips must be the cheapest in FL. Overall would play again just be prepared to wait 10 minutes between shots.
First time
The golf course was very crowded and the pace on the front nine was very slow. The ranger did nothing to speed up play and allowed a foursome to look for golf balls hit into a pond while three foursomes were waiting. I liked the layout and the course condition. The price and golf course was good. A married couple were put with us and they were members and were helpful and friendly. Overall I enjoyed the experience.
Fair course but with hazards
Course has a fair amount of water but plenty of room for a bailout to keep you dry on most holes. There are several that you have to be pretty selective on shot placement to avoid wearing a life vest . Tee areas, fairways, greens and bunkers are all well kept. Without a stemp meter, I would say the greens are 9-10 in speed. During the winter months ( January thru March) the course is quite crowded and the pace of play could be somewhat slow. Saturday afternoons are your best bet for a good pace of play. Overall Deep Creek is a good average and fair value for Florida. The staff is as friendly and helpful as any I've found in south Florida. Go with a good attitude and you come away a happy golfer!!!! Hit em straight!
Slooooow
Took over 2 hours and 45 minutes to play9holes. Waited on every shot
Ranger staff
First time playing course I have ms and have a hard time with my walking but I am very stubborn and won't ask for help! The ranger of the day notice that I was having trouble and give me a flag for my cart to cut down on amount of walking during my golf round. Thank You for caring about people.
Decent Course
Really friendly welcome from Mark who greeted us in the Car park and brought the Buggy to us.
Course nothing special, but offers some variations from a lot of the straight up, down and around the houses that a lot of Florida courses offer.
Worth another visit.
Great course!!!
Great fun day on the course.. we played this course many years ago and gave up on it but I can tell you the improvements that has been made in the last few years is making me want to go back and play Deep creek again real soon.. The greens are excellent- the fairways are in perfect shape the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome, just a perfect day!! Looking forward to playing it again real soon..
First time on Deep Creek
Excellent greens and a nice course overall. A shame that the front nine has four par threes as it does slow the game down.
Great layout
Really liked the layout of this course , greens were very nice. Not too fast but certainly fast enough so don't be too aggressive. Fairways and rough were also In good shape. Looking forward to playing this course again on my next trip to Fla. Booked on golfnow for $35. Which I thought was fair maybe because I played twin isles for $13 and got spoiled a bit .
Shorter Is Better
Blue Tees stretch course out to about 5800 yds, white tees about 5400 yds, but still with some nice lengthy par 4 and par 5 holes. Nice layout and conditions except for some ongoing maintenance the day I played. But really a very nice course overall offering pretty much the same variety of shots as some of the longer courses. Very scenic layout.
nice course
I played well. The greens today were excellent.
Great course.
I really like playing at BOBCAT. course was in very nice condition... only thing I didn't like was the fact the carts are gas engine powered and noisy. Other than that, a great time.
Pace of play fast
Check in was easy, was not harassed by staff at bag drop looking for tips, was able to use putting green, range balls not included ? No one explained, range was irons only, starter allowed us to start early, course conditions were good, greens in good shape, overall a good time was had by all.
Not Worth the Money
Deep Creek was a poor experience. Super slow pace, had to wait to tee off, then waited at pretty much every hole.
Course itself wasn't much to write home about. Greens in fair shape at best and fairways left a lot to be desired. For us, it's a once and done.
That said, the couple we played with said Deep Creek was their favorite course in the area. To each his/her own...
