Oak Valley Golf Club
About
Oak Valley Golf Club boasts the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the Winston-Salem area. The course sprawls across what used to be old dairy farmland, nestled in the North Carolina foothills. Palmer utilized the rolling, wooded terrain and transformed the site into one of the Triad’s most scenic golf courses. The layout presents many challenges, including strategically placed sand traps along the undulating greens. You will also come across a fair amount of water hazards throughout the golf course. Palmer, known for his "go for broke" playing style, incorporated several interesting risk-reward holes and it has become what the course is known for. Good drives will be generously rewarded while an errant shot will make it tough to even get a bogey. Oak Valley Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers.

Great Course
Course is beautiful. It is in a housing development. The houses do not detract from the golf course. Our threesome never came close to endangering a house. The houses are well off the course. The course has a number of memorable outstanding holes.
Friendly members
Worth every penny! I'm definitely putting it into my rotation. I got paired with two 10 yr. members and they couldn't have been anymore friendly. The only thing I need to say about the course is its an Arnold Palmer.
Will be back for sure
Played on probably one of the coldest playable days in yesterday. But it was worth it to get a round in. Nice course for the time of year. Great staff, nice facilities. Will definitely come back soon as well when spring comes around.
Fun and challenging course.
I couldn't have picked a worst day to play-cold and rainy day, but I hadn't played in couple of weeks. Course was great condition considering time of the year. Gentleman at check-in was helpful and friendly, even went outside and wiped down seat on cart, which was totally unnecessary due to rain. Overall it's always a treat and a pleasure to play Oak Valley every chance I get.
Great course!
one of the best courses west of Winston Salem one of the best courses west of Winston Salem
Picturesque great layout
Loved this course. Every hole different not a real difficult course but challenging enough to make you think every shot. Loved the views!
great shape. good time.
A pleasure to play. Staff great. Will continue to be on my playlist!
Top 5 Public in the Triad
Oak Valley is a great track. The practice facility is one of the best that I've experienced so far in the Triad area. Lots of targets to aim at, as well as a large short game area.
Course was really nice. Great layout. Good mix of easy holes to make birdie and challenging holes where par is a good score. Even though the tips said 7000 yards, it didn't feel like it played that long. Lots of elevation changes, with very few uphill shots.
great staff
The greens were 2 weeks removed from being punched overall track was in fantastic shape. I left a club at the course and staff helped me track it down all the way to Salem Glenn.
great layout
the overall course was in great shape, unfortunatly the greens had just been punched and sanded about a week before. we will go back. it was tough but fair, and the staff were very kind.
Play this course
Impressive course, need ones A game though ,long par 4s.Greens had been spiked and sanded, made it too soft but at this time of the year,to be expected. I will go again in the not so distant future. Very friendly staff, make you feel welcomed. To be able to play an Arnold Palmer design course is a real treat. I had a great afternoon.
Nice shape, friendly staff.
Course was in very good shape and play moved along well for the heat of summer. The sand traps were in poor condition, making me think they have some extensive maintenance in the plan soon. This course is consistently in great shape and you'll enjoy a challenging round.
Good Layout
Course is in good shape. Greens are a little soft, but reasonably fast. Some holes are pretty easy after you play the course a couple of times. Otherwise it can be challenging. One thing to not is the distance makers are sparse studio bring a finder.
Great Track
First time playing this course, it was really nice. Nice facilities, great course and well maintained. The greens rolled true, and were challenging. The course layout made us have to hit shots, not just tee it up and hit a driver every time. I will def go back.
Average Course
Greens were covered in unrepaired ball marks and the sand was reminiscent of wet, red clay. Overall it was a solid course for the cost, but there are much nicer courses in the area with similar greens fees.
Most enjoyable course this summer
My teen son describes course as highly scenic with neat elevation changes, and gives compliments to course design around water. Traps need sand therapy. A must play with generous fairway landings and soft greens. Placement of several tee shots demands some left brain energy. Staff were very attentive and helpful.
Great course for the money
Played late in the day with a 5:15 tee time. Didint have to stop one time on the front nine. Once we made the turn there was a 5sum which held us up a bit but we let the single behind us play with us and it was fine. The way we felt is how can we complain when were playing on this beautiful course. The greens were soft. Tough to read each green ran different. Just like a woman they all were girls just played different. Overall great course. Will play again real soon.
Very nice public course that has country club feel
A really nice layout that is in wonderful condition. Course feels very open from the tee and presents a good chance to score on most holes. Although the course plays through a high end residential development the houses do not intrude on the course.
Very nice
This course is a very laid out challenging course , well maintained with a very helpful staff on hand to assist with whatever your needs are , we will play it again
Thanks
Randy's review
Very pleasurable experience. Only reco is that lawn staff be more alert to golfers playing the course- had to wait a few times.
