About
Oak Valley Golf Club boasts the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the Winston-Salem area. The course sprawls across what used to be old dairy farmland, nestled in the North Carolina foothills. Palmer utilized the rolling, wooded terrain and transformed the site into one of the Triad’s most scenic golf courses. The layout presents many challenges, including strategically placed sand traps along the undulating greens. You will also come across a fair amount of water hazards throughout the golf course. Palmer, known for his "go for broke" playing style, incorporated several interesting risk-reward holes and it has become what the course is known for. Good drives will be generously rewarded while an errant shot will make it tough to even get a bogey. Oak Valley Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers.

Very nice course
It's not a lot of trouble on this course, BUT you need to keep the ball in play and score well before getting to the back nine. Starting at 12 the holes get longer and you're no longer hitting a wedge into the green.
There are a few quirky holes like 7. It's a dogleg right but you must hit a long iron off the tee, you must strike the ball well or you will be in the water and if you hit driver or 3 wood you will hit thru the fairway.
The greens rolled true. This is a course you must play. I will be back
Challenging course layout, but very well done!
Enjoyed on a great NC day, low humidity and reasonable temps. The course had very challenging holes, but played smart will provide a great reward. Choose the right clubs, understand the site lines and landing areas, and you will have a great time.
Great Course Layout
This was my third time playing Oak Valley. It is a challenging course with plenty of sand bunkers. Course is well cared for and a great layout. Well worth the weekly rate.
Short Grass
Keep it in the short grass that Ruff was Rough . And keep your eye on your ball if heading towards it…Not complaining love the challenge 🏌🏿
Oak Valley
Course was in great concdition 2 days after Tropical storm. Staff was nice all around. Talked to a few members and all very helpful and friendly.
Great course
There was a club tournament before we tee off. But the pace was not bad 415 minutes. Greens were slow but very good. Will play again.staff was great.
Fun layout
Course in great condition. Greens excellent. Plenty of challenging shots with fairly placed hazards.
Excellent condition
This course presents itself like a private course. The layout is excellent and the condition matches it. I would love to play here every week. Hope to be back on a monthly basis.
A very good course close to home
The golf club I belong to is renovating the course. So I am unable to play there for some time. Oak Valley has proven to be a consistently good option. The course is good and the staff is friendly. I recommend it.
Course Great
Second time I played this Summer and felt like members and other folks were looking down on me as an outsider. The girl at the Grill was slow at the turn and seemed to be a bit out of sorts, I think the group of members gathered around a big table there had been rude and demanding of her.
The question of would you recommend this course to a friend, would be yes, if you can overlook the snobbery of the regulars.
Fabulous condition and layout
First time playing here and shot my best round this year. The course conditions were excellent. It has a great layout and feels like a private course. I was disappointed that the snack bar closed before 6pm. I would love to be a member here and play every week. Unfortunately, it's too far from home. Hope to come back every few months.
Fishing trip
Was in the area fishing and decided to get a round in. My son and I got matched up with a local 2 some. Really enjoyed the course. For $60 on the weekend I think we got a steal. I liked the layout of the course. Very nice. Would have been $100+ course at home in PA. Reminded my of a nicer Myrtle Beach Course. Greens and bunkers were in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes as well. Played from whites. Shot 86. 15yr old son shot 79. Few holes make ya think. Not just driver wedge , driver wedge.
Greens
Greens were in good shape... they just seemed slow.. I would rather putt on fast greens.
