About
Oak Valley Golf Club boasts the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the Winston-Salem area. The course sprawls across what used to be old dairy farmland, nestled in the North Carolina foothills. Palmer utilized the rolling, wooded terrain and transformed the site into one of the Triad’s most scenic golf courses. The layout presents many challenges, including strategically placed sand traps along the undulating greens. You will also come across a fair amount of water hazards throughout the golf course. Palmer, known for his "go for broke" playing style, incorporated several interesting risk-reward holes and it has become what the course is known for. Good drives will be generously rewarded while an errant shot will make it tough to even get a bogey. Oak Valley Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers.

Golfer Reviews
Wanted moire!
Overall, course maintenance left some to be desired. Granted it is early spring, and heavy rain the day before.
But, cart paths in poor shape in some locations and bunker conditions are not steller. Greens had just been punched and not recovered yet.
Scorecards do not reflect current tee markers. Very confusing with all the colors of tees but, no directions to what they were.
Terrible greens
We paid close to $110 for two and a cart and no one informed us they the greens had just been aerated and they guy at the desk said that cause we had already paid he couldn’t refund the money and then we got out there and they put so much sand on the greens that you couldn’t even see the grass on some of the greens.
Great Course under Maintenance
This is a good course, just today though only the front 9 was available and. greens were unplayable. due to being punched and sanded the day before. I just. played the normal shots until reaching the green and. picked up from there. The club house attendant let me know that was the case, so It was known before teeing off. I appreciate that.
Best for Mid to Low Handicaps.
The course is in great shape, always is. You are just punished heavily if you can't always keep it in the short grass. The first cut of rough was about 4 inches high and very thick. Balls get lost easily, in. open areas. you have to walk up on the ball since they sink into the thick rough. I lost about 6 balls to the rough today. If you are a high handicapper like myself, it was not as much fun as I was hoping for.
I did like the staff, especially the starter who provide advice on which tee I should use.
Condition of course
Very challenging mainly because of the rough being so deep and some of the pin placements were very difficult.
Fun layout
Always in superior shape. Challenging but fun to play. Greens well maintained.
Very nice course
It's not a lot of trouble on this course, BUT you need to keep the ball in play and score well before getting to the back nine. Starting at 12 the holes get longer and you're no longer hitting a wedge into the green.
There are a few quirky holes like 7. It's a dogleg right but you must hit a long iron off the tee, you must strike the ball well or you will be in the water and if you hit driver or 3 wood you will hit thru the fairway.
The greens rolled true. This is a course you must play. I will be back
Challenging course layout, but very well done!
Enjoyed on a great NC day, low humidity and reasonable temps. The course had very challenging holes, but played smart will provide a great reward. Choose the right clubs, understand the site lines and landing areas, and you will have a great time.
Great Course Layout
This was my third time playing Oak Valley. It is a challenging course with plenty of sand bunkers. Course is well cared for and a great layout. Well worth the weekly rate.
