Great round!
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. One member of our foursome did not have clubs and is left handed and the staff were able to provide us a set of clubs for them to use free of charge. The course was in great condition and tee times were spaced out enough that we never got backed up at any point. I would love to come back and play again.
Great Layout, poor condition
I always enjoy the layout of this course; especially the original Donald Ross front nine. Very tight with small greens. Back nine is more open with larger greens. However, the predominant surface you are hitting off of is clover on the greens and fairways. And the greens were painfully slow.

A must play course
Course was in extremely great shape. Staff were really nice. Price was a little high in my opinion but still worth it. We will go back.

Course layout was fun and challenging. The greens were slow but consistent throughout the course. We thought it was a great course for the price we paid.

Unfriendly staff
Staff was rude and unhelpful, I had questions as it was my first time being there and using golf now but the only answer they would give me is contact golf now, not willing to work with people, the course was not great either

Good course
Nice course
Greens a little slow even though they were aerated a month ago, still had sand on them
Tough layout with a number of uphill shots but very pretty
Inexpensive and worth the money
Biggest downside no where to get a water or soda with the bar/restaurant closed at 930 when we teed off and 1130 when we made the turn

Nice vacation golf course. Prices are very reasonable. Course in decent shape. Recently aerated so greens were understandably slow and sandy.

Black Mountain
Greens recently punched and sanded didn't help and will get better. The poor layout will not. Not sure how this course ever got a four star rating. I'm a former collegiate golfer and have played more than my share of quality courses. This should likely be a 3 star course at best.

Uncharacteristic
FIRST, GOLF NOW— You need to figure out how to let golfers know when these courses are under maintenance. The shop was prompt to inform us an hour before our tee time about aerated greens. The shop does not carry anything but tee times and The Green Tea Grille never opened due to a mystery involving the owner/operator. I’m sure this was an uncharacteristic experience for their players today BUT boy what a bad day for golf at Black Mountain.
