Black Mountain Golf Course

Had a good round at Black Mountain GC. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Booked a round for two for 18 with a cart the night before via Golf now. Paid in full, when arriving at the GC, was told that the round wasn't valid for 18 with a cart after 2:30pm weekdays. Went ahead and played nine with a cart, but lost my additional money paid for the full round. Other than this review, there was no one to contact to get a refund.

Interesting layout here by the Jedi master (Donald Ross)! A little cramped on the front nine, greens were good, fairways were o.k. (Play winter rules here to avoid the bare spots)! Tee boxes need work! Quite enjoyable for the money! DO NOT PLAY HERE AFTER A WET OR HEAVY RAIN!

I enjoyed playing there, but it was right after a heavy rain and the course was VERY wet which made it play very long. Lots of beautiful holes. I was visiting from out of town and I'd like to play it again under more ideal conditions.

My game was rained out. Course closed inquiring about a refund.

The course itself is confusing. Sometime I had trouble figuring out which direction to hit the ball in and/or where the flag was. There are a few holes that seem to share the same fairway which was a bit frustrating when you had someone playing towards you in the opposite direction. The greens were COVERED in sand to the point it felt like you were playing in a bunker. Overall it was an okay experience. Still had fun regardless of the course conditions. The food at the Green Tee was amazing!

This course needs so much work it’s hard to imagine what comes first. Bunkers looked as if never raked. Golf balls plug on every other shot. Fairways are like shag carpets! Weird blind shots off many tee boxes some facing towards another tee on a different hole.
