What a deal, er, I mean steal
Outstanding course underplayed. Fair but challenging from all tees. This is not a driver-wedge course. Greens are excellent and subtle. Fairways are ample. You must think and place to score. Staff is outstanding. Great pub 19th hole for post-round. Great $50-75 course but for $25? Are you kidding. Play at any price.
The course was in great shape and a must play when in Pinehurst!
If you like to use every club in your bag, Little River is a course that you will want to play. The front and back sides are almost like two different golf courses. The front side is long and fairly wide open while the back requires shot making and strategy. It is a good test of golf and the course was in great condition especially considering the rain that we have been having.
Played this course years ago and it is still a nice layout. Greens were very fast. Will play it again very soon.
Great staff, great course layout, greens tough but fair.
Greens look great!!!
Course looked very well. Course well maintained and in excellent condition!!! Would recommend to anyone to play for the discounted rate offered!!
Hilly course, fun layout.
Greens were in good shape......rough needed mowing in many areas. Some bunkers needed sand, others had some cheap red sand with rocks in it added. Cartpaths were very rough.
Greens, fairways, and tee boxes were in excellent shape.
I enjoyed the rolling hills and wooded fairways without any houses.
Tough but great.
The course is in great shape.
The greens are really fast but the ball rolls great.
The bunkers could have had more sand in them, they were pretty firm.
The first hole and a par 3 on the back 9 are a little intimidating because of the lake you have to hit over.
I will be going back there again.
Great course
Play was bit slower than we prefer, but sometimes you need to accept that In weekend. Course was In great shape. Staff is superfriendly - everyone we met that worked there were really nice.
The starter was very friendly and the course was in great shape
I thought since I got the tee time on golf now and I guess I was starting time late ( I didn't think I was late) but the pro seemed to rush me out without being very friendly . My group was hitting from the first fairway so I caught up with them.
Beautiful and well maintained, but need a forecaddy on some of the tee shots.
Enjoyable layout with mix of difficult and moderate holes. More yardage markers would help, and the cart paths have lots of tree roots.
Fun, firm and fast!
Fun course to play. Open fairways, some long challenging holes. Firm greens the day I played recently. In some cases a runner onto the green is your best option. Greens were hard and approach shots had a hard time holding. Fast greens, unfortunately 3 putted 5 times. Not that I necessarily hit terrible putts but I would roll some 20 footers 5 feet by and missed way too many of those. It is a very nice course to play in the Pinehurst area and also has accomodations and very nice clubhouse available,
Nice Course
In 3 and half hours, saw only one other group n the back 9. Seems they are no popular, during th week, but a nice course. Some challenging holes, and very pretty.
Loved it!!!!
Very nice course. Played from the tips (7000+ yards).
Minus a bad hole (scored 8 on par 5), shot 82!!!
I liked the layout, the greens...nice!!!
On a side note, order your food early (at least 1/2 hour before tee time).
It was right after a heavy rain and the greens were superb
Cart path only day but not in bad shape with all the rain that has occurred in the past week. Had good round
Nice layout with a couple very interesting holes
The course was still in the spring transition phase so wasn't in its best condition but was good for the time of year. We enjoyed the round even though play was a little slower than we had expected given the number of people playing. Would like to play it again in the summer but it was well worth the $30 golf now price and if in the Pinehurst area again we'll add this to our golf agenda.
Wide fairways
Enjoyed this course. Fun to play. Good lunch at clubhouse. Friendly staff.
18 holes to remember
Being a Pinehurst residence for over 12 years, LIttle River is one of the areas best courses. The course is challenging yet fair. Each hole is completely different from the last, which makes it a memorable experience when you play here. The Green are perfect and the layout is pristine. Anyone traveling out of town, must make Little River a must!
Great seconday course in Pinehurst area!
The front 9 is tough but the back 9 is a little easier. I love the course and it is always in good condition.
Beautiful course
I was there in early april and the course was in great shape. would love to see it during the summer to see how nice it looks when all the trees have their leaves and all the grass is green
A genuine test of golf ability.
Played the gold tees and still had to play good shots to score.
Good, solid golf course.
