About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Poor pace of play
Course was in good shape. Not a very difficult track. For having a starter out there hounding you for your ticket, you would think they would keep people on time for their tee time and keep up pace of play. That is not the case. Except a long round.
Play this course again
Course was in great condition, especially the greens, Pace was slow but the rangers did what they could to speed things up. Great little course that I look forward to playing again.
Great experience
Had a 9:30 tee time on a Friday so I was expecting it to be backed up. Ranger kept the groups moving and we were done in 4 hours. That was with a walker in our group as well.
Staff was incredible. The GM, Corey was very attentive and helpful to his staff at the turn which isnt always something you see at other courses.
Tough but fun course!
The only issue was pace of play. More “bros” out there made things a bit slow but to be fair it was the Sunday after Hurricane Ian hit Friday.
Great Experience
The tee time was last minute. I got there late. I'm was in the area on business. I walked in the clubhouse and the guy working in the pro shop was very cooperative. The course was pack but he got me in. I ended up playing with 2 members and we had a blast. The course was in great shape. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Great course for the money
This course is in pretty good shape, greens roll very well and bunkers play fair. Had a great time playing it and look forward to my next round.
As advertised
You can tell the owners care and have made numerous improvements over the past few years. Will definitely play it again.
