Lochmere Golf Club

This is the only course that is either soaked or a dry crusty river bed feeling track. Greens were a little sandy but the bunkers were well maintained. Overall a fun track just needs a little more work to get higher rating. The practice area has the worst mats I personally have ever seen, must stay packed, time for a change.

The course is really suffering from poor maintenance. Needs a lot of help.

No grass at all on the Tees.

Very little grass ln the fairways.

Greens were in pretty good shape.

Course was overbooked t time was delayed 30 min, college tournament had been scheduled, course was cart path only, many walkers, front “9” played in 3 hrs., asked for rain check for back 9, and was. refused since I’d purchased special on line.

Marked pace of play as excellent because my 4-some was playing at pace, but were not keeping up with group in front of us. Ranger asked us to pick up play. I thought that was appropriate and liked they monitored it.

Layout of course is nice, but flatter that some of the courses on the North side of Raleigh. Course was not in good shape, but I think that was due to time of year. Grass still dormant so often felt like I was hitting of dirt rather than grass.

Due to recent rains the whole course was EXTREMELY wet and probably should have been closed.

Might be fun with drier conditions

Terrible conditions. They shouldn’t open the course if they can’t find a solution for the mud.

First off let me say ... the course should not have been open for play . Conditions were unplayable . It had rained the night before 1/2 inch . I called over said they were open cart path only . It was beyond wet . I understand but close and protect the course . Anyway , upon arrival I literally stood at the counter of 15 mins before the pro shop attendant “ bald guy tall “ might have been a manager , had his head up his @a#% , even acknowledged me . I had to say “excuse me “ is this where you check in ?

Yeah what’s your name ? Grab a key and go . Do I need a starter ticket ? Nah your good . Whatever . Played this course once before , forgot how bad it was !!!

Never again !!! The only silver lining is I had 2 others golfers that were very nice company .

I want to love this course but after quite a few times of trying, it seems impossible to get a round completed in under 5 hours. The tee times are too close together and there is no ranger out on the course to encourage quicker play. The course is drying out and the greens are in good condition, but it’s hard to sit for 10 minutes between each and every shot.

It had not rained for at least a week, however, the course was almost not playable. Cart path only which is common for this course. Pace was ok. Greens are good.

But since this course is such a mud hole whenever there are any level of rains, I think they would be better off making a lake.
