Lochmere Golf Club
About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Greens are in exceptional shape and rolled true - especially given the state most other courses around the Triangle are in. Pace of play however was pretty horrible. 5.5 hrs is too dang long.
Everything else was great though!
Course in good shape
Course was in very good condition. Staff was friendly and efficient despite some technical challenges at the pro shop.
Good Golf
The recently aerated the greens and put sand down. Greens were rolling at a very fast pace. Friendly staff as always.
Great Course... no doubts
Just a good course, front 9 was closed so played back 9 twice..... still pace of play was great. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I like this course.
Rain Go Away
Rainy weather only allowing us to play the back 9 twice. I guess the front 9 is lower land and gets flooded. A little disappointed. Greens were in great shape. Good location from Raleigh. Booked tee time using Gold Now app and got a good rate.
Rainy day,but managed to get wet only once
Course in good condition. We only got to play the back nine. Maintenance being done on front nine.
Great - not crowded
A great course when not overbooked. Today was perfect. No rush - great movement. Course is in good condition.
Nice course...overbooked
A nice course but too many golfers out at a time. Long wait to next tee can be frustrating.
Slow
Course very nice conditions, but extremely slow-
4.5 hours. No ranger.
Green course
Tee boxes, fairways, & greens we're all watered and green. Well-maintained course.
Exceptional staff. Even offered Holiday cookies at the clubhouse on the turn.
A pleasure to play this course.
Will definitely play again and again.
Need to manage slow play
Enjoy playing the course but slow play seems to be an issue at this course. This time on a Sunday night for tee off at 6pm everything was going smooth until we hit hole 5 where it became backed up waiting for two groups of 6 youth ~8 years old playing a match play tournament or league of some sort. On hole 6 there were 3 groups of golfers waiting to tee off. We decided to skip the rest of the holes and go to hole 10 where we finished up our round. It’s great to promote youth golf and have the kids playing but the course should either advise golfers ahead prior to making tee times or don’t allow tee times behind the young golfers. Another option would be to have golfers start on hole 10 to avoid the slow play issue.
Course is short but good value for the money
Course is short but good value for the money course was in good shape the staff was very friendly and they had an excellent pro shop. Will play again thought it was an Excellent valuable for the money
Good course
The greens were air rated 5 days prior to playing but still rolled decently. The fairways were in great shape. Some of the tee boxes need a good bit of work but besides for that the overall condition of the course was good. Can’t wait to play here soon when the greens will be 100%
Much improved course
This course is a much improved course compared to few years back. You want to see it yourself. Really wished a ranger was around when playing behind a very-slow two-some that did not let the others playing thru.
