Lochmere Golf Club
About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Nice course, slow play
The course is nice and in great shape. It was overcrowded and pace of play was painfully slow even on a Tuesday morning.
Better than before
I have played his course in the past when rain a week before still had the fairways soaked. New drainage has greatly improved course. I was in great shape from tee to green. I play once or twice a week and live in Apex but had avoided Lochmere because of course conditions. Now they need to resist the urge to pair players up at every opportunity. If you are less than a foursome, they will create a foursome. It is annoying and often not necessary
Awesome Greens
Course layout is average, however, greens are in excellent condition. For its rates well worth it. Pace could be slightly faster but reasonable. Course can be tight and requires accuracy off tees.
Course is in great shape
I played here in the spring and the fairways had some bare spots but now in the fall the fairways are in good condition with little to no bare spots.
Great challenging course for novice golfer
Beautiful golf course. Fairways and greens are some of the best I've played this year. I'm a novice golfer and feel great when I hit below 100. Course was challenging but yet forgiving also.
Good value; course not too shabby!
I'm not a stellar golfer (typical score ~95), so places like Lochmere that cost $25 for 18 holes at the twilight rate are what I generally look for. The course is well maintained, is pretty challenging for my skill level, and the pace of play is decent.
I've walked the course, and it's a long one, so this time around we rode. Good experience either way. Range on site is a nice plus if you want to get in a few practice swings.
second time at lochmere
this is a pretty good course for the money, got a hot deal and was completely worth the $16. Overall the course is in pretty good shape, still some winter kill but overall nice conditions. We got stuck behind a women's league so that definitely slowed up our back nine. I would recommend playing this course if you are paying a discounted rate but I dont think the rack rate is worth it.
Best Greens in Town!
Greens are in the best shape of the 10 courses I play in the Raleigh area.
Bunkers are tops!
Staff is always at the top of their game.
Highly recommend a round!
Lochmere
She fusterated under repair , tee boxes and greens in good shape , BONUS - pace of play was very fast , and very affordable ! Def worth a return visit
Excellent Course Close to Everything
What can I say, this is my home course. It gets used and abused, a lot by people that have no idea about golf etiquette. It get's a lot of traffic in the warm months and despite all of that, the greens are pretty fast and in good shape! I think the fairways could get a tiny bit more attention, but overall I can tell they put a lot of work into this track considering the amount of play it gets. Last but not least the chipping and putting green is in really good condition at all times I feel. Keep it up Lochmere!
My Friday at lochmere
Don't bother playing this course. A Friday. Teed off at 11:32, got off at 4:35pm. Horrible pace of play. They book too many tee times and there's no ranger to keep the pace moving. I won't go back. Will find something else.
great greens and course doing well in the rain
Walked and played 18 in a light but steady rain. Greens really nice. Entire course in very good condition and handled the rain well today. Played in 3.5 hours.
Water everywhere
I haven't played Lochmere in 30 years so I considered it my first time. I don't remember the course having so much water, but there are creeks and ponds on practically every hole. Narrow tree lined fairways make it challenging. Hit fairways on the first nine and shot 38, missed fairways on the back and shot 44.
Always a good round at Lochmere
Guys at Lochmere are always great and easy to work with. Course is usually in good shape and pace of play is usually fairly quick.
Summer Sunday
The course was good condition and there was little wait time after a delayed start.
Nice Course and Facility
The tee boxes and fairways were in great condition. The greens had been aerated the day before so it was difficult on the greens but the staff and fellow golfers said just last week the greens were great. Great place overall and I cant wait to play again once the greens have bounced back.
Excellent greens
This was my first time playing the course since the installation of the new green turf. If you have not played the course with these new greens, you should! An excellent improvement!
Lots of tree lined fairways.
Good overall experience Most fairways narrow and tree lined. Greens were firm and fast and well maintained. Many tee boxes for all skill levels.
