About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Hidden gem
The course was in the sandy season with every green sandy but the layout was challenging. From tee to green you will have to shape shots to score effectively during your round. Great views of the history of the location! You will love this golf course, I will return!
Tough pin placements!!!!
The course was great and no real complaints outside of where the flags were placed on the greens. There was not a single flag that was in the center of the green on the day we played. Every flag was impossible to land close to and was no more than a few paces off the edge. They were all on the smallest corner of the green. I don't think there was a tournament going on. Overall great course and I will be back, but just a bit more variety in pin placements. This would also speed up pace of play!
Visiting from Phoenix…club rentals were above average. Great place/course. They had just fertilized, so it was cart path only, so it was hard to get correct distance. People and staff were friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend.

Amazing public golf course!
The quality of the course itself including tee boxes, fairways and greens in particular is outstanding for a public course at that price point.
Would certainly recommend to my friends and will be back next time I travel through Charlotte.
Always fun, except when 5-some slows it down
Played at 5:40pm on Friday night. Single in front of our 4-some was quick but there was a 5-some in front of him, including 2 walkers. Too slow!
Great Birthday Round
Took my nephew for his birthday and we had a great time, The course was booked tight, we played with another 2 golfers, one was a walker. we managed to do well keeping pace, Marshall did ask us to speed it up, but in one hole , we were standing on the tee box waiting for the foursome in front to play. Nice, big clubhouse and outstanding practice facilities. Bring a hot putter, the greens are a challenge for the first timers. We will be back, worth the hour drive.
Great day of golf
I was a single with a tee time of 11:40am. I was paired up with a threesome that had never played Rocky River, so I got to be their guide. Great fellas and the one tip I gave them was beware of the greens speed. That proved to be pretty accurate. They and I enjoyed the round though with great pleasure!
