About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Great day of golf
Starting with bag drop to golf shop reception./checkin to cart attendant to starter to practice range to refreshments cart lady and indoor clubhouse amenities were the gravy on top a wonderful round of golf where fairways and greens were well maintained . First time for our foursome - we will be back - had a beautiful Carolina blue sky to boot.
Great course
Beautiful course with a great layout. It played fast since we played midweek. The golf carts are annoyingly strict but other than that I would absolutely play here again!
Great shape
Everything was in great shape. Quick greens with some tricky pin positions led to more than a few 3 putts. Staff was great.
Well kept and reasonably priced
Pretty much as the title says. Course is well maintained. Challenging in spots, but overall a fair, well thought out course that isn’t too expensive.
Great course too slow
Great course if you want to play 4.5 hr round. Last four times there pace has been dreadful. Won't go back
The Best Course in the Area!!
I love this course so much that I play it every week! In fact, I often play it on Saturday and Sunday because I enjoy it so much. It is a challenging and beautiful course. The staff are professional, friendly and accommodating.
Great day at Rocky River
Course was in great shape. We got a great deal on GolfNow. Greens were rolling great!!
The pace of play was a little slow...Rangers could have pushed the group in front of us but it wasn't too bad.
I would play again.
As Good as It Gets Around Charlotte
Of the courses I can play around Charlotte, Rocky River and Edgewater are my favorite. Edgewater is twice as far away so if I find a deal at Rocky River I try to jump on it. In addition to the layout and condition of the course I really love the GPS in the carts which allows for better course management. The only improvement I would make would be adding senior tees. There is no set of tees between 4654 and 6028 yards. The former (Burgundy) are essentially the Ladies tees (although diplomatically not labelled such). Even at the shorter tees (which we played) the course can be challenging because of the huge, undulating, and fast greens. Going forward I think I'll try a mix of the White and the Burgundy. In any case I'm sure it will be an enjoyable round.
Charlotte Gem
What a gorgeous layout. Conditions were almost as perfect as the vistas. Perfect. My first time playing but shall not be the last.
