About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Nice Course
Tee boxes and greens are in good shape for December. We had a great time and look forward to the next round at Rocky River.
Rocky River Rocks
This is an excellent golf course. Extremely fair, easy to play but with many challenging holes. The staff is excellent and courteous. I would highly recommend.
Nice Course but staff needs some work
The course itself was in great condition but the staff was not the friendliest. If they can figure that part out i would have given a better rating
Great first time experience
Moving in from out of town. I’ve played a few courses. Of those I’ve played this one is on my top 2 to play again multiple times. Once the fairways are green in season this course will be even more beautiful.

Beautiful hidden gem
Even during winter the course was in great shape. I would like to play it during the summer months for sure. Much play if your near Charlotte. Thank you to rocky river crew.

Great outing, a bit too leafy
Exceptional course, some great holes, but fall play proved problematic. Ground crews were blowing leaves off of holes that had virtually no leaves scattered about while back nine holes were literally covered with leaves. Fairways and greens on several of the back 9 holes slowed our ability to find balls and forced us to play “winter greens” (automatic two putt) because greens were so covered with leaves it was ridiculous! Even clearing a path from ball to hole proved useless since the wind was constantly moving leaves all over. Great outing, but ground crews need to better allocate resources.

Favorite Public Course in Charlotte
Course is in fantastic shape. Greens are fast and true. Fun layout. And food at the turn is really good. My favorite public course in Charlotte area.

It's unfortunate that you can't get a senior discount when making a tee time online, and the course won't give you one when you get there.
A Good Time Was Had by All.
I just started playing golf at the beginning of this year at the encouragement (insistence?) of my sons. Rocky River has quickly become one of my favorite courses. The course is always in great condition and is beautiful, especially in the Fall. It is challenging, but has enough wide spaces to offer hope that I won't lose all of my golf balls!
