About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

CART PATH ONLY ON A PERFECT DAY :(
Beautiful day outside, it’s been dry for a week and this course forced us all to play CARTS ON PATH today, such a disappointment. I was truly looking forward to today, only to be forced to walk miles on end for no reason. It slowed down play by atleast 45 mins maybe more at certain points of the day. Our round took 5 1/2 hours, we waited on the 18th tee and then the 18th approach for 10 mins each easily. Just ridiculous to have people on the cart paths today and not tell everyone when they call in and or when the purchase online. No one wants to be carts on path after it’s been dry outside for atleast a week, especially after our rainy off season! We’re ready to ride!! I could have played somewhere cheaper and would have been able to drive straight up to my ball. Just ridiculous to pay $60 for CARTS ON PATH and then walk 6 miles up and down hills back and forth to the cart for new clubs. Just unnecessary and disappointing. Great course but that was a bit of a dirty cheap play by the powers that be at Rocky River today.
Surprisingly Nice
I hadn’t played this course in many years and was extremely impressed by how much it has improved, what a nice track it is and how nice the practice facilities were.
Nice course, well maintained
Nicely laid out and well maintained course with good aesthetics. Good mix of challenging vs. more moderate holes. Carts have built in GPS which is helpful/nice.
greens were very fast.
it's a great course although I will only play if I can find discounts off the normally high rates. It was annoying that the 3 some behind us was complaining that we were slow even though we kept up the pace on most holes. The ranger said they wanted to play through and then we could see they were not good players - obviously they were not playing every shot and were only interested in being somewhere else.
Hiden Gem
Lived in the Charlotte area for thirty years and never knew this course existed until late last year. Plenty challenging for this12 handicap and love the fast greens. Have only played it a handful of times and can’t wait for winters end and hard fast fairways again. I’ll play this course a bunch this summer. It’s well maintained and a friendly place to play.
Solid Golf Course
Difficult to provide a true evaluation of any golf course during the winter months due to the dormant grass and wet conditions. With that said, Rocky River is very enjoyable to play with smooth fast putting surfaces. Nice hole variety adds to the enjoyment. Definitely a course I will continue to play once the weather improves.
Good shape for Feb
Course is in good condition, only wet on a few holes. Greens still fast and tricky!
