About
Rocky River Golf Club was carefully carved from lush, rolling hills and natural wetlands with the intent of preserving the beautiful terrain as much as possible. The course flows across the dramatic natural contours of the land, providing holes with plenty of elevation changes. Running alongside the rolling fairways are winding ribbons of native wetland grasses that weave through rocky outcroppings. Golfers shouldn't be surprised if they come across some of the wildlife that inhabits the course, which includes cranes, deer, and beavers. In addition to the stunning scenery, the golf course offers a challenging round. The large, contoured greens demand accurate iron play. Errant shots will find their way to the wetland areas or the patches of seeded fescue. In addition to the golf course, Rocky River offers a driving range with four target greens as well as a putting and chipping green.

Need some marshals
As frequently happens there, I got paired with clueless people who played incredibly slowly. They drove their carts all over the place, blasted country rock from their Bluetooth speakers, were never ready to play when it was their turn, and repeatedly walked right behind me mid-swing. It took almost 2:30 to play the front, midday during the week, with no one in front of us because we fell so far behind - but stacked up the course behind us. And no marshal in sight. I quit after nine.

Greens are true
Good round, was cart path only but still fine. The cart path is usually not too far from your ball. Pace of play was good, and we played 12:40 on a Saturday.

Greens great - course very rough
Not a good value for the 60.00 green fee. The greens are excellent but the bunkers are not well kept.
The course is quiet rough compared to a couple of years ago. A lot of areas need repair especially at or near cart paths. More inline with a 40.00 rate vs the premium we paid for a mid week round. Overall a disappointment.

Great conditions right now
I was placed with a threesome, so our round took 5 hours. Not the course’s fault, but as a single, and the fact that we never saw another group, I could have played in far less time. Other than that, the course was in great shape, greens running pretty fast…seemed a bit dry but not unplayable.

Great Layout
The round was soured a bit due to the slow play. Tee times are set up w/10 minute intervals, but the round took 4:50. The slow play might (?) have been the result of the group in front of us. A group of 5 w/only 4 playing. The 5th being an off duty starter. This group may have “jumped” the line.
Moving on, the course has seen better days. Areas appeared dried out and worn, but greens were true (and fast). I will return because it’s beautifully laid out and a friendly staff. Decent value for the money.

Very Likable course
RRGC is a well laid out track. Pin placements are extremely challenging. A great test course for your skill level, whatever it is.
