Fantastic
No two holes alike. Course conditions excellent. Loved the elevation changes. Have played 10 top-notch courses in the last 2+ weeks touring through western VA, WV, and NC. Cedarbrook ranks at the very top of all the courses we played. It's worth an hour (or more) trip to play--it's that good.
GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT. PLAY THIS ONE!!
Cedarbrook knows how to do golf right! From the moment you pull onto the property until you drop the last putt on 18 this is a top notch experience! Zim, his son Taylor and ALL of the staff are always a pleasure to deal with and will make you feel welcome. The course is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I hope to be able to make the trip again soon. Thanks to all for keeping first things first.
Little Slice of Heaven in Elkin
Would give more stars if I could. Course condition excellent compared to other courses in NC. Over-seeded fairways and tee boxes combined with nice bent greens, can't beat it.
Not a bad hole on the course, not long but challenging with doglegs, tight tee shots and elevation changes. Water comes into play occasionally and the greens are severely sloped, but fair especially considering the course yardage.
Before I thought Scotch Hall Preserve was the best value in NC, but now it has a contender with Cedarbrook Country Club.
I will return soon and I will return often.
Great course and price
Over seeded so in great condition for early Spring golf
Survive the front and try to score on the back
The course is in great shape now and will only get better. Course is well maintained and the greens on the front 9 are a challenge to any golfer. If you have ever wanted to play this course... it would be a great time to plan a round.
Very Good Day
Course was in excellent condition and looked great. We will be back
great layout
Greens where aerated and the holes had not filled in. Slow and bumpy.
Pinehurst for Pennies?
YES! The five star reviews are correct and accurate, this course is a true hidden gem. The bang for the buck is off the chart! The staff is beyond friendly, I've played the course a few times and have been thanked for playing there every time. Zim, the pro, is just a stand up guy and will do anything he can to make your round enjoyable. I live an hour away, and this is now my "go to" course. I've played Pinehurst. and this is like Pinehurst for pennies on the dollar! Not fancy or pristine, but solid and challenging, the clubhouse and facilities are nice, the course is GREAT! NO way you say? Pinehurst #5 was designed by Ellis Maples and so was Cedarbrook!
Great value
Well worth the money and the trip.Challenges all aspects of your game. Stay below the hole when putting. Looking forward to my next round.
Best $32 I spent on vacation
Stopped and played this gem on the way home from Santee golf vacation and it was easily one of the 10 best courses I have ever played... PERFECT greens.. great course conditions etc.. this is a HARD track but man.. what a great experience. Greens are Tour quality and FAST.. best part.. they don't put the pins in horrible spots where you cant putt and have realistic chance at 2 putt.. not sitting on the side of slope etc.. will be back every yr 100%.
Always love playing here
Challenging course but I never hesitate going back. Beautiful views and layout. Very friendly staff; you don't feel like you are just dollar signs walking through the door like you do at many courses.
Greens
Booked thru golf now, and greens were punched with sand on them with no mention of that.. Other than that it was great.
Hidden Gem!!
This is a great golf course off the beaten path. It has some of the most challenging greens you will ever putt on.
flowing fairways, open not much trouble.
Very good fairways and greens for this time of year. Bent grass greens have held up and lots of grass in fairways .
great
course is in great shape greens excellent just weather was very hot and sticky and we played behind really slow people but can't blame course for that.
Great Course
First time we have played this course and we were very impressed.
Very friendly staff offered a warm welcome. Course was in great shape. Beautifully tree lined holes with a little water on the front nine to add to the challenge. We loved the elevated tees.
The greens are difficult to read and were a little slow due to the rain but in great shape.
Would definitely play this course again when we are in the area. We highly recommend this excellent course.
WOW
First timer, the course was great. I did not eat anything so could not give five stars. Staff very nice and welcoming. You better hit the ball close to the pin because very hilly.Good thing is the greens are fast and roll perfect.
good
Great course for the money. Can't go wrong playing cedarbrook
Cederbrook -
greens were tough ..... but championship quality
Sand bunkers leave a little to be desired
Hopeful! I want to like it...
I was hopeful before going because of the great reviews and the 4+ star rating, maybe too hopeful. Much of what I read was accurate, very friendly staff, nice facility, challenging undulated greens. What I wasn't prepared for was how rough the fairways on the front nine were. The Bermuda still hasn't come in and looks like much of it was lost over this past winter. Many of the tee boxes are in very rough shape. Greens are in great condition. The back nine was a better layout and better conditions overall. There are many different grass types used on this course and I assume its due to climate but it does make for interesting playing conditions. I want to go back late summer to see if it has improved with the Bermuda but overall it was an okay course.
