18 on a weekday
My wife and I were visiting family and had the day to golf. We found most of the tee boxes in disrepair. The fairways were ok but lacking a lot of grass.
Very good for a course of $30-40
Considering this course exists in an area of $100-200 rounds, this course is a nice course for what you are paying. The greens are in excellent shape, and are as good or better than most in the Southern Pines / Pinehurst area for public courses. As most previous reviews state, the tee boxes are in need of much repair, but while I was playing, the grounds crew was applying fertilizer to all the greens and tee boxes. What surprised me most was the overall layout of the course. There are lots of elevation changes throughout, which created an enjoyable / challenging layout. The fairways are what I would expect for a course of this price, and I am sure the drought this year has not helped. The concrete portions of the cart paths are in very good shape, when you get to the fairway portions, which are packed dirt, they can be very rough. Overall, I think it is worth what you are paying, and with some improvement on the tee boxes and fairways, could be an excellent low/mid price track.
Always a Pleasure
I visit family here once a year and it always serves as an opportunity to play golf early in the season for a northerner. It’s a challenging layout, has very friendly staff, and the price is right. I highly recommend...
Value Course
I truly believe this course does not get the credit it deserves. The course is well designed and penalizes golfers who cannot hit it straight because it does play tight on many holes. Greens have always been in tremendous shape but I can say today was the fist day ever that they have played this slow. I will however take the trade off as the ball was checking on pitch shots. This course is easily the best value course for the money in Fayetteville.
Great course but the guy who checked us in spent 15 minutes saying we need to pay again even though we paid online he demanded proof. I said it’s you system just look up my tee time and my name should be there with 4 players and no money due. As I pulled my phone out to show him he magically found it but never apologized for holding up everyone!!
Getting there
I used to play Kings Grant many years ago, moved back and wanted to give it a go. Overall, course is decent, definitely needs some more TLC. Greens are great and best part of the course this time of year. Looks like they are investing on improvements for sure. Clubhouse and restaurant are really nice! Looking forward to spring and summer conditions!
King’s Grant G&CC Fayetteville NC
I’ve been playing Kings Grant often on for about 21 years of different course ownership. Great layout with a few fairways that have had wetness issues. I observed improvements on those fairways and enjoyed my round. Unfortunately, there was one lady that I encountered walking the cart paths. She was totally oblivious to the possibility I was being hit by a golf ball. This is the first time I’ve seen a non-player walking on that course and let the clubhouse know. I will definitely play again.
An amazing day at King Grant's
I treated my significant elbow to a nice game of Golf at King grants, in Fayetteville, just to give us something different to do outside our normal area and being at Golf as a girl passion. Don't retirement so well.I figured why not, we had a great time definitely will return
First of many visits
Playing this course was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The greens were exceptionally well-maintained and offered a true test of precision. It’s a course we look forward to returning to, and one we would readily recommend to fellow golf enthusiasts.
